Genuinely wonder what the shorters see here with no debt , and strong oil and gas prices and the tax regime already as bad as it can realistically get . How do you get a big fall from this level ? Surely upgrades incoming after the big rises in oil and gas

OPEC Oil Data Show 3 Million-Barrel Shortfall on Saudi Supply Squeeze

Fourth-quarter deficit may be the biggest in more than decade

Saudis, Russia have extended extra supply curbs to end of 2023

Global oil markets face a supply shortfall of more than 3 million barrels a day next quarter — potentially the biggest deficit in more than a decade — as Saudi Arabia extends its production cuts.

There were significantly more shares in issue then as well. Our mcap has been slaughtered

This was over £4 when the oil price was last here
I guess the extra tax has stopped it going back there again

I would have thought this would have picked up in line with the oil price
Oil price over $90
I am guessing though a lot shorts going on as buyback comes to to an end

My main problem is the stock out on loan with the buybacks ending, that's why another one must surely be announced to counteract shorting activities.

Kenbos activity with price will be interesting for sure, the amount of stock out in loan is quite large so buybacks ending could give a different perspective on where the share price trends.
Although I still expect another buyback to be announced in the not to distant future.

On a different matter not sure how they can say $100m spent on divi at 12c were the amount of shares is lower than at the last divi payment.

At current rates I reckon they are aiming to end the current buybacks a week on Friday

According to the sheet Ive been running, we should be at approx $184m by close today

I hope the shorters get caught with their pants down when oil shoots up to 100

Will you never learn Mick. This is not traded on fundamentals, but on the fundamental idea that you can earn more money by shorting HBR than by investing in it.

Until companies like Harbour making lots of money take on the shorters and send a few away with a bloody nose it will continue. They could have started by cancelling the buybacks (it just encourages the shorters) and making tender offers instead, at a premium for their own shares. They need to buy back all debt and not buy any more companies with debt. And there are dark arts that could be used on hedge funds.

This doesn't stop until someone gets smart.

I'm in an even worse hole than you and exasperated by the strategy.

Looks like someone loaded up for the dividend and then immediately dumped them. Someone was seriously short of their income target.
