RE: Egypt probes expansion plans with Harbour Energy
Let’s not forget the fact that no deal is done until it’s 100% done and dusted, hence the market still awaits for the final deal completion followed by subsequent results from the combined books/finances of the new merged entity before truly pricing in a successful M&A going forward (which BTW I strongly believe this will turn out to be, particularly considering the experience and expertise of HBR management in this field!).
Some international big boys are already clearly onboard here even prior to full deal completion and HBR’s re-entry into the FTSE 100. Also IMHO, HBR is extremely undervalued and way oversold at the moment but let’s not forget the old saying that “In the Short-Run, the Market Is a Voting Machine, But in the Long-Run, the Market Is a Weighing Machine”! |
Amongst the many positives published within the HBR Half Year Results (08 August RNS), I also found this one here to be particularly noteworthy although interestingly now, we should have the new combined/post M&A company trading by Q4:
“Harbour-operated UK capital projects, including Talbot, on track to significantly increase production in Q4” |
Oh, look, when fantastic news was issued, begginnig of this week I said this would finish below 300p Friday.

Egypt probes expansion plans with Harbour Energy
The discussions focused on the upcoming steps of the acquisition, Harbour Energy's plans to begin operations, and its expansion strategy in Egypt
Egypt - Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Karim Badawi met with the Executive Vice President of Wintershall Dea for the Middle East and North Africa Sameh Sabry to discuss the firm's expansion plans in the Egyptian market, as per a statement.
Sabry will soon assume the role of Vice President at the British company Harbour Energy.
This follows Harbour Energy's acquisition of Wintershall Dea's concessions in Egypt's Nile Delta and the Mediterranean Sea.
The discussions focused on the upcoming steps of the acquisition, Harbour Energy's plans to begin operations, and its expansion strategy in Egypt.
The meeting also covered a new initiative launched by Badawi to provide a package of incentives aimed at increasing production by foreign partners.
Badawi emphasized the Egyptian government's commitment to implementing practical solutions to support foreign investments, particularly in resolving payment issues.
He highlighted the petroleum sector's dedication to aiding foreign companies in enhancing exploration efforts and achieving new discoveries. |
