02/1/2009 14:34 | H N Y to you too Noshy - good to see HMY moving up today. | alter ego
02/1/2009 11:34 | happy New Year all you hammies, I have not posted as out of action with new metal knee. | noshy
19/12/2008 13:16 | Not a great fan of TA, but other people are so its worth taking note. Through the 20 ma at the start of December and now we have cruised through the 50 day ma. The 20 day has now had a clear turn up and looks like crossing the 50 day soon. All very basic stuff but it does show we have a fair wind (sorry "momentum") behind us. m1v1 + m2v2= (m1+m2)v3.....well!? did that take you back? | clogue
18/12/2008 14:29 | I find it very hard to believe that a person who could have bought these shares at 160p immediately after the results would have the bottle to buy anything if the market fell another 25% from here. On a much more positive note, I see that the mms have eventually run out of stock. I did note that we had several days of heavy buying and the price only inched up but today they have been forced to move the price quite a bit. | clogue
18/12/2008 11:12 | Seems the shareprice wants to disagree with you and is breaking out upwards again. | momentos
18/12/2008 10:58 | Not if and when the market slips another 25% + in H1 2009. Hamworthy isn't delinked. | onlythebest2
15/12/2008 19:01 | Good, that means you wont have to post here for a very long time! | momentos
15/12/2008 16:04 | I'll buy when it's around 150 again | onlythebest2
12/12/2008 14:11 | Jefferies (issued 25 November) forecast 36.2p followed by 36.0p, 36.7p the following two years. "The important messages in these results are that medium term industry drivers remain positive and the strategy remains compelling. Long-term attractive markets, good management and significant cash more than support our BUY case" | momentos
12/12/2008 13:00 | Collins Stewart have just upgraded their 2008/9 forecast of EPS to 35.6p. "HMY is effectively valued at c. 2.8 times true EV/EBITDA which for a business with its market position, commitment to margin growth and the balance sheet strength is cheap. Buy " 12/12/08 | clogue
10/12/2008 10:44 | Shares moving from weaker hands to stronger hands, hopefully we are now ready for the next leg back up. It looks like it's trying to anyway! | momentos
09/12/2008 16:51 | Back on at 4.15 expecting to see some large sells from earlier but no sign. For an AIM company HMY is very liquid, but even allowing for that, I'm very surprised to see 1.2% of the total shares bought today with little increase in the price. The three large buys today were for a total of £1m and,if I remember correctly, the price fell. | clogue
09/12/2008 12:37 | Good buying after the close last night and now a 150k buy today. Things appeared to have slowed down recently but this could be the start of the next leg up. Edit:190k and 176k buys as I was typing, what's going on? | clogue
05/12/2008 20:55 | It's not all bad ,take a look at ACMG - Geraldus Spotts. | geraldus
05/12/2008 08:20 | Just found this on Bloomberg... Global LNG Ship Orders Slump to Lowest Since 1998 | allillanchoo
04/12/2008 13:14 | Something about hiring an acquisitions expert too... 2/3 page article, quite prominent. (with thanks to my local WH Smiths "Why buy when you can browse?") | momentos
04/12/2008 10:57 | Ex div yesterday. | clogue
04/12/2008 10:21 | We're ex-dividend today aren't we? Good to see a rise rather than a 3p fall! | momentos
02/12/2008 14:01 | Nope, no bitterness, just pointing out sharesmag's wonderful record.... I bought and sold for a small profit earlier in the year in the 500's. I got back in only last monday (eve of results) at 165p. Very happy all round thanks, and holding tight! | momentos
02/12/2008 12:35 | Do I detect a note of bitterness here. Moving on : I understood that Shares Mag. tipped (or mentioned positively) fairly recently and I did read the IC piece. I've gone over the IC article and, although the author was bullish, little was made of the cash position "......and cash in the bank". If there is a further write up I think they might point out that 125p/share is a bit more than just cash in the bank. | clogue
02/12/2008 12:16 | lol, you mean like here?! Published date:Thursday, August 28, 2008 ...Hamworthy and Weir are least exposed to the dollar but each 1c movement still adds 1.5% to profits, according to Numis.... ... TRADES TO MAKE THIS WEEK - BUYS Order of the day Hamworthy (HMY) 475p ... On a prospective PE of 13.5 the shares look good value. (!!!!) The people's choice | momentos
02/12/2008 12:09 | For an AIM stock this is certainly liquid. I see someone managed to get inside the spread and buy 50k first thing this morning. Good mix in trading today with lots of 2-5k trades, both buys and sells. Weak holders selling/ top slicing and new buyers in above 200p. We could have a nice steady rise throughout the week and I still expect IC and Shares Mag. to follow up their tips. The results certainly vindicated the good write up that both gave and they usually(always?) like to remind you that they got it right. | clogue
01/12/2008 19:08 | Well said chaps. It would seem that HMY has a fair head of steam up and to rise by 2% when every index is falling by 5% is pretty special(all the more so as it comes after a 25% rise in the last week). Just to nit pick a little, I think we have established that the stock market is not full of companies like this. There may be companies with as much cash, there may be companies with a long top class order book, there may be companies currently earning an excellent profit and paying a good dividend(rising at 15%/ year)but HMY is the only one, that I can find, that ticks all the boxes. Further heavy fall in the pound today can only improve profits. | clogue |
