The irony of some BB excitement with a 2p offer; although reality is will not be that in aggregate. Expedited corporate action at around 1.8p proved good foresight for those brave enough for a recent top up.

More fuel for the conspiracy theorists and whilst on that subject a certain recently timed sell rec must have given ample opportunity for certain parties to hoover up a few more on the cheap....

And to close this hmb chapter it seems fit to recognise our resident mystic meg got within 48 hrs of the rns; although 5p less than expected !

AAAAAR, no. I'd never suggest topping up here. As I've mentioned before, I was just holding on the off chance of a decent offer coming in. I was hoping 4-5p may be possible a few months ago if they'd been quicker to put the for sale sign up. But although 2p is disappointing, it is better than what we'll get if the company stays in the hands of TD and his crew for much longer.

Judging by the trades today it appears most see this as an escape in the market
at 1.65p - i'm inclined to agree given getting in to bed with African Resources
is going to be an unknown journey imo (no advice intended)

Care : folk should realise it's a Partial "60%" Offer @ 2p
- plenty deluded in thinking they will have all holding converted at 2p

NB sells his shares to a connected party but is then able to participate in discussions?

It is beyond the capability of the Board to ensure a 100% take out (they can afford it)

"The Independent Directors, who have been so advised by share price Angel, have agreed to recommend unanimously that Hambledon Shareholders:

o vote "FOR" the Partial Offer in respect of their entire holding of Hambledon Shares; and

o accept the Partial Offer"

Why couldn't they have advised us at north of 5p that they were going to screw up the operations, and that we should sell?? That bit never got mentioned in any shareholder presentations.

2p is that it? lol

They could've sold at double that for a discount in 2011. The last few years have hardly been a period of increasing shareholder value!

Regarding TW, never trusted that guy, always comes across as a slimeball.

Chestnuts,
i believe you are correct that you can buy at the current price and sell at 2p per share.
people are assuming that an offer for 60% of the shares means they can sell 6/10 of their shareholding, thats simply not the case. besides the EBRD there are other Instis that bought shares at 3.25p that also may not be prepared to accept 2p.
it looks like they already own around 10/12% and are looking to get to 60% with a minimum target of 50.1%, they may even have to pay more to get the controlling interest they are looking for.
we shall see.

there is no doubt that you will be able to sell all your shares at 2p.
as i said before the EBRD will not be selling their shares for 2p having just bought them for 3.25p hence the offer for just 60% of the shares.
the Company will then be controlled by the russian and the Bank with very little free float.

The key question for LTH's is whether realising 60% at 2p or 100% at 1.7p and re-investing elsewhere will achieve a greater return in the same timeframe it will take HMB/AR to move this share forward and add value.

AR clearly see value and poterntial above 2p but note

"Once the development of the underground mine resumes, the construction of all associated infrastructure and the purchase of mining equipment will require substantial capital expenditure"

Wel this is a turn up, probably a decent end to a miserable investment to be fair but shocking none the less to think just how badly management have done here!

no, you might only be able to sell SOME of them for 2p (assuming acceptance), the rest probably worth less

Responsibility for considering the Partial Offer

In view of his continuing involvement in the business as an executive director of Hambledon, Tim Daffern has not taken part in the Independent Directors' decision to recommend unanimously that Hambledon Shareholders accept and vote "FOR" the Partial Offer in respect of the Hambledon Shares held by them. All matters relating to the Partial Offer have been considered by the Independent Directors, comprising George Eccles (Non-Executive Chairman), Baurzhan Yerkeyev (Executive Director), Nicholas Bridgen (Non-Executive Director) and Sabine Anderson (Non-Executive Director), who have been advised by share price Angel.
