18/8/2006 01:25 | ALERT ALERT. This share is being delisted and effectively practically worthless on Sept 14 2006. The directors hold 70% of the shares and are voting in favour of delisting what they claim is CLO's 4% stake in Charlton Athletic. SELL SELL SELL | mryesyes
15/6/2005 19:14 | NCU is a much better buy , Pays a 8% Divi as well, and we have got Scott Parker to boot .... any way we choose. B | biswell
15/6/2005 18:08 | I keep re-reading it and it does appear to say that. I've never heard of a new issue at such a premium. When they set it you could have bought at less than half the issue price (although I shouldn't imagine it would have stayed there if you were looking to buy 9 million of them). If there's no more to this than meets the eye then it's refreshing to see the insiders being so generous to the club/company. t | tomrob

31/1/2004 11:06 | curbs moving on is a definite possibility now....the again he has made a big issue over loyalty with scotty going under a cloud...I doubt he would do the same in a hurry.... | badabing2004
31/1/2004 11:03 | Bad for player and both clubs IMO. Chelsea now have players bought since the Russian arrived who alrready don't figure in future plans.Where do Smertin,Geremi,Cole & Veron even? fit in. This leaves many players already uncertain about whether they'll be shipped out after a couple of bad games (Mutu seems to get bad body languauge from the Bosski when he misses; what price he leaves in Summer) - stability is key. Charlton loose a talisman and £10M won't replace him, Curbishley is more convinced than ever that his ambitions will need to be fulfilled elsewhere, and Parkers chances will be intermittent, especially if he makes a heistant start. Lampard and Makelele (sic?) have to be first choice? Expect he'll score the winner at highbury in the cup after all that! | madgooner
31/1/2004 10:53 | and our turnover is 3 x that...+ nearly £10m in bank this year from the sale of scotty and improving incomes from Sky for more coverage, increased gate receipts, a much higher finish in the league means CAFC will be quids in this year...and very good chance of EUFA cup football next year....an undervalued stock if you look at it business terms.....ps I thought WHU were your main feeder club these days..... | badabing2004
30/1/2004 19:25 | PS: Just noted that your Market Capitalisation is £11m - We should have bought you as a feeder club !!!!!! | flackwell-raineri
30/1/2004 09:22 | congratulations to cfc on getting parker...good business for both clubs in the end...nad as a shareholder I'm happy..as a fan..gutted..still can't have it all..just hope he isn't picked against us at the bridge next week | badabing2004
24/1/2004 09:22 | Madgooner - I hope your views of Parkers mental state proove right - Come on Scotty .................... | flackwell-raineri
23/1/2004 19:03 | Chelsea increase Parker offer By Leo Spall, Evening Standard 23 January 2004 Chelsea today made their third bid this month for Scott Parker, which Charlton are now considering. Roman Abramovich's club have already had a "final" bid worth £7.5million, rising to £9m after 90 appearances, rejected. But they have now gone back to Charlton with an improved offer for the England midfielder, who could become a Chelsea player in the next few days. Charlton have stood firm so far and believe that the first two bids seriously undervalued Parker, who they consider to be one of the best young players in the country. The football club chairman Martin Simons launched a broadside at Chelsea this week when he told Abramovich to "get lost". However, Parker has been disappointed that his lucrative move was blocked after believing he had an agreement that would allow him to join one of the Premiership title contenders. The 23-year-old has no get-out clause in his contract, which has more than four years left to run, but with the saga dragging on he has found it difficult to focus on his football. As a result, he was dropped from his side's 1-0 win at Everton last week and was sent home from training yesterday. Chelsea are confident that their ability to pay huge transfer fees up front will enable them to do a deal . A Chelsea source said: "We can pay a large percentage of the transfer fee up front which is increasingly rare these days and works in our favour. "In the summer a lot of our deals were settled up front. If we agree a fee with Charlton then the discussion with the player will be very quick. It's a game of poker and there are still 10 days to go." | badabing2004
19/1/2004 15:09 | Come on you Reds ! Still riding high in premier league, £10m bid coming for Scott Parker, Europe beckons (Eufa rather than Champions League) but not bad for a club that was bust and without a home just 10 years ago...what a recovery story and look at Leeds for the flip side....bring on the Bolton...shares are looking a bit healthier too and must be one for recovery during 2004 if this form continues, just look at the extra incomes over last season and if we do sell Scotty, well he will be a great loss, but £10m biguns is not to be sneezed at.... | badabing2004

31/12/2003 08:55 | MG, Maybe the fundamentals are not so great, but compared to most football clubs this is an oasis and we reduced losses from £10.7m last year to just £0.5 this year. In our current season, we benefit from more incomes through: - Larger gates - Much increased TV revenues - Improved off-pitch and corporate incomes - Hopefully, a much improved finish in the league - Even a decent FA cup run perhaps (if we can beat the pykies this weekend) Anyway, I admit it, I am blinkered but still like the look of 2003/04 season to date. | badabing2004
30/12/2003 23:28 | Hmm.. NTA below current price, no profits and debt 300% of current market capitialisation..I'm no chartist, but the fundamentals are scary, before:- -Declining football revenues -Performance risk (what if you get relegated?) -Overly strong player power -Personnel risk, Scott Parker and Curbishly for spurs?? though heaven knows why either would.. | madgooner
30/12/2003 23:24 | chopsy, don't be so sure. Unsucessfully backed that horse from a long way out when Newcastle came from behind to make the champs league..got the footy right but still holding the NUFC shares from 120p (thankfully it was a play not investment type holding)..Same year got the Sheff U shares on a promotion hope, they made it up, I lost on the shares....Football has a civ called players wages IMO. | madgooner
30/12/2003 20:00 | Going up now. Still 4th place. If CLO get into Europe that's big money. | chopsy
30/12/2003 15:08 | Ticked up on the offer today....20p to buy....cheap as chips these are.... | badabing2004 |
