13/11/2017 13:54 | Emptied both pockets at 862p. | fizzypop
13/11/2017 13:51 | Which says two clear things.. a) people do think Lads is the target and b) they don't much like the sound of it!They slightly smoothed the Turkey announcement out with the October record trading commentary part, but ultimately all it has done is line GVC up with either Hills or Lads in people's minds. It's hard to imagine there were too many other reasons for selling it.Nonetheless the company is performing so well that one can reasonably assume that in due course it will resume an upward trajectory. | noujay
13/11/2017 13:45 | Yes, now for the interested parties to buy in at 860p, rather than 960p only a few days ago, madness. | srpactive
13/11/2017 13:40 | Now we're down even more than Ladbrokes on the day! Crazy. Now looking the most oversold it's been this year. | woodhawk
13/11/2017 13:34 | Talk of us buying LADS by the media and the directors selling, will help a US operator buy gvc on the cheap before the US opens is my guess, dyor. | srpactive
13/11/2017 13:30 | i still dont understand the reason behind this fall.Have added a few more nevertheless.. | nurdin
13/11/2017 12:55 | W Due to the US market looking to open to onliners, it has put all companies with exposure to it in the firing line for an approach. The talk years ago at prty and bpty was that as soon as the US opened up the US would want all the proceeds for themselves. So the big players would buy all the non US companies that could benefit. With this in mind you have to look at gvc and bpty', exposure to the US especially in the years before the US ban prty had a lion share of the online market, so gvc now a target to be bought. So if a US internet giant etc wanted to buy gvc, they would want it cheaper than the true value, so release a story about gvc buying LADS ( if gvc had made an approach it would have had to release an rns which it has not I believe). Encourage a shorter I believe Mace ( or whatever they are called have been said ) to be aggressive and the directors to sell stock to help send it lower. So question to all has there been an rns about approaching Lads? If not you can see the agenda, US operator to buy gvc before the US fully opens. dyor | srpactive
13/11/2017 12:54 | And it reports in euros!!! | noujay
13/11/2017 12:54 | In a record month for a pure online play which is generating a plenty of cash, it ends up tracking Lads. I bet Kenny wishes this deal was so broadly anticipated. He may have thrown the bone that it may be somebody else..but it doesn't seem to have convinced too many | noujay
13/11/2017 12:51 | I always try to buy when others are selling - and vice versa. The £ is taking a hammering due to Theresa May's increasingly precarious position - so we ought to be rising!! | woodhawk
13/11/2017 12:41 | A very real threat Woody. | festario
13/11/2017 12:37 | I don't know about investment... might be attracting a bidder soon? | woodhawk
13/11/2017 12:28 | Kenny talked of selling Turkey helping to shape the business up to attract some new investment. Shouldn't have too much trouble if it keeps falling at this rate! | noujay
13/11/2017 12:03 | According to the 3 year chart, it was overbought, so we are settling back into the trend that takes us to 1000p by mid 2018. | festario
13/11/2017 12:00 | Well I'd say that GVC was a firm far more comparable with Skybet or bet365 so on the back of their surging revenues it ought to be at the very least standing still, not falling in sympathy! | noujay
13/11/2017 11:59 | A few more repurchased at 871p. Almost a £1 off peak now. | woodhawk
13/11/2017 11:57 | I hope that the 870p that I predicted as the bottom, actually IS the bottom! | festario
13/11/2017 11:38 | W As long as the media stop talking about GVC buying the Lads that is. If they want Aus online buy WMH. | srpactive
13/11/2017 11:21 | Being moved down on hardly any volume. | festario
13/11/2017 11:09 | That's what I think, Noujay, nice special divi Christmas bonus to celebrate a great year for GVC. | woodhawk
13/11/2017 10:56 | Nothing especially interesting in Lads results barring the Australian end really. There's a note from Regulus earlier which sees the potential impact of the review as being more significant than is being factored in (in line with Festarios previous comments on this aspect). If M&A is being pushed back in line with the review I see no reason not to lash out a pre Christmas special, assuming trading continues unabated | noujay
13/11/2017 09:22 | Ladbrokes Coral's high street operations continued to decline in the four months to 29 October, but were offset by growth in its other divisions. The figures Total group revenue was up three per cent, boosted by 12 per cent growth in digital with sportsbook revenue up 18% and 17 per cent growth in European retail. But UK retail, which accounts for one of the largest sections of the company, slid one per cent. Revenues from the high street have declined four per cent so far this year. Some new markets showed much faster growth, including the Australian Ladbrokes website which increased net revenue by 50 per cent. The company has been trying to increase its share of the online gambling market as a possible crackdown by the government on profitable betting terminals in high street shops threatens to hit its retail operations. The high street operations are only set to feel more pain as the government proposes radical restrictions on fixed odds betting terminals. Today Ladbrokes Coral said it would take part in the consultation process. The group is likely to be among the most significantly affected by any restrictions to stakes on FOBTs the government may enact and Mullen did point out the uncertainty this continues to cause in the industry. The update comes after the firm agreed to a £2.3 million penalty package from the Gambling Commission last week for failings which saw two high-spending customers gamble away around £1.3 million of stolen money. The company was sanctioned after an investigation into sub-brand Gala Interactive found “significant flaws” in the way it deals with punters displaying problem gambling behaviour. | loganair
13/11/2017 09:07 | Another indifferent trading update from LCL this morning as the fall in the share price reflects. Perhaps that's why Kenny is/was interested in them, the upside is potentially great as it was with BWIN. | mylands
12/11/2017 19:04 | You're right, fizzypop, I did sell my entire holding, however I have repurchased circa 50% in the past few days. I'm now awaiting developments, but hoping that last week saw a bottom on that spike to just below 880p. I'm hopeful of - and my indicators suggest - a swing back up to the 950p region. With the Russian venture underway and World Cup 2018 now rapidly approaching, I'm prepared to overlook my disquiet at a possible move on Ladbrokes. I also consider that GVC may itself be a takeover target!! I am also wondering if there will be a special divi announced in December and paid in January, as per last year. | woodhawk |
