Worldquant increased their short positionto 0.64% on 3rd Oct.Walleye Capital are unchanged at 0.70%.So, a total of 1.34% of shares are being shortered.

@Pete, and then it bleats when one of these smaller countries bites back - am looking at you USS Vincennes. Their EW guys would have known what the radar fit on an Airbus looks like compared to that of an F4/F14. Oh, yes operating US kit after the UK (not our finest hour) and the US deposed the elected president, installed The Shah who then spent Iran's oil wealth on USUK kit.

@Pete, and we would say that they've got all the kit but still got no idea.
We were in the Channel expecting an air raid from IIRC Portland air assets and had an AWACS on station. The dopy APR (Air Picture Reporter) on the AWACS was calling out everything as hostile - including commercial aircraft on recognised flight paths. I recall our ORS (Ops Room Supervisor) having to call him up with a polite WTF!!??

Hi Ozz. I don't trade but with hindsight I would have done well over the years. But hindsight is easy. And trading only pays off if you time it right. Which most of us don't. I sleep easier knowing, or thinking, that I've made the right investment choice even when things look dire.

I have a core holding which I dont touchand a smaller amount for trading. Have traded the smaller amount, rebought (in hindsight at the wrong time) , but made some profit on these swings

These traders are manipulating for the Trading Firms sometimes selling and buying just one share at a higher price or lower price. This is still legal trading 😊

This is manipulation as they don’t need to pay the trading firm fees - free trade . This is always been like this for donkey years whereas you and me cannot do this because we need to pay a trading fee to trade .

Fun and games being played today. Those inside know there are few days left to accumulate or trade for profit. I am sitting tight. As always. My life is sorted but if this pays off it will be the icing on the cake. I really should just look in once a week but im hooked on the fascination of it all. Might even top up if it gets silly tomorrow. Time for a Pecorino or three. Enjoy.

Trading desks from the same entity buying and selling them back and forth to each other to drive the price the way they want. Despicable practice but no way is it ever going to stop.

Oil price

As the Opec meeting starts today the Saudis have announced that their voluntary cut of 1m b/d will remain in place and all the way through to the end of the year. The result has been a fall in the oil price today, not maybe an expected response but the strength of the dollar continues an employment data has suggested that the Fed may have to raise rates by more than recently expected.

And of course the US is hardly a blueprint for political excellence, markets are jittery after the split Republican party defenestrated the 3rd most important person in the land as Kevin McCarthy was publicly the victim of a self-destructing party…
