An hour and a half after yesterday's close you announced to the world that you had released your much anticipated and market moving update Tony.

In eager expectation of that momentous event the share price rose over the preceding couple of days from 140p to last night's close of 157p.

It obviously contained good news because your subscribers placed their orders which were then executed on this morning's opening immediately pushing the share price up another 5.4p to 162.4p.

So it's all good news then Tony.

Perhaps they should have announced the accelerated S13 was "imminent" then we would have known for sure it wasn't coming weeks ago:-)

BP, PetroChina Spin Out Iraq’s Rumaila Field Into New Company
Iraq’s cabinet approved the restructuring and said Basra Energy will be responsible for financing and developing the field, Oil Minister Ihsan Abdul Jabbar said in a separate statement. The Iraqi venture is subject to other approvals.

BP won the right to develop Rumaila in 2010, and the new joint venture is expected to operate until the contract is due to expire in 2034. The field is one of world’s biggest, pumping 1.4 million barrels a day in 2020.

Jabbar said in July that BP wanted to pull out of Rumaila, though he later added the government was working to improve operating conditions for foreign oil companies and stop them exiting.

That's an interesting proposition Tony.

The problem is that it clearly doesn't generate enough revenuue to enable you to escape your £110k terrace house in Salford and upgrade to a semi.

And I wouldn't even bother getting out of bed for that kind of money.

If you were talking in terms of maybe a quarter of a million a month then I would consider taking one of my people off what he's doing and set him to work on it but anything less than that wouldn't be worth my while.

Oil price

My comments yesterday on the vaccine, Mexico and the weaker dollar all contributed to another big up day in the oil market one could also say that traders are reluctant to take on MbS in the market.

More importantly I would like again to point out just how strong the natural gas price is at the moment, the USA led the way, but right now, and as I have been pointing out for some months, it is the European price that is the leading indicator and as above is right now 115p with 120p in the near future strip.

Why this is happening is causing some concern but it really is markets which I don’t think that even the Russians can fix. Sure they are rumoured to be cutting supplies to Europe down, maybe to blackmail potential users of Nord Stream 2 but more likely through a combination of a colder than usual summer up north, creating demand for storage and regular summer maintenance. If you don’t believe all that then just say that Russia may have discovered a value over volume strategy….

This really is Christmas come early for the gas producers and whilst they have differing agendas, such as Diversified Energy enjoying nearly $4 Henry Hub, President in Argentina and Savannah Energy in Nigeria the home beneficiaries are really making out like, well, not before shall we say. Other beneficiaries are led by Serica where Mitch Flegg must be overjoyed, Kistos who are already producing from the Tulip deal, IOG where first gas from their Phase 1 SNS project is imminent and of course all of those hoping that their major gas projects in Morocco come good such as Chariot, Predator and Sound as well as others.
