Regards finance ,they have had $200m available that they have never touched ,.......:)Hopefully they have allocated this to the third party buying stock for them....So they could financially develop Shaikan albeit slowly.....Obviously not doing as they could be at 75k now if they had used the extra debt facilities...SOLD TBA

Why would GKP need a merger ? Why would the bond holders allow their capital to be tied forever in GKP for dividends? Thats not the way they think or operate.

The bottom line is the Kurds/ICG need cash = more production. ASAP.

Thats the driver.

We could also have a merger between some fields. Shamaran is near the 0.4 SK ready to explode.
While all the Kurdish oil stocks are going up, only MOL is sleepy. That could suggest a slow development.

What is GKP worth? Which currency? 70 bil $ would equal 100 tons of gold that have to be stored. If it remains listed, shareholders (KRG) will have and endless stream of dividends, whatever happens to the different currencies.

He is a shareholder because he was given free options.The board can amend the rules , awards,size,scale of option awards.They can settle all options in cash rather than stock on TO,at any let they likeThe company really should have via third party bought as much in as possible in past 20months since they gave themselves the authority to do so in June '19

Thanks for the reply. Corporate Finance is not my area so I cant comment on the shareholder issue. Im not convinced of your logic.

JF could also be normal shareholder and like any other knowledgable investor , knows the value in GKP AND the possibility of a sale at a much higher share price than today.

They could raise the money from the market through a normal fund raising process.

However that would not change my comments above about lacking expertise. I also question KRG preferences. Particularly another fund raising. IF the Kurds want to fast track production then they need a player capable of doing just that. GKP is not that player and I say that after a lifetime in Project Management of one form or another.

I have been informed of two strange facts:
1. One service provider lists different shareholders where Jon Ferrier appears at the 11th position with 1.79% of the outstanding shares (210,370,936).

Questions:
a) as no shares of the VCP were vested in 2020, why have the board vested these nil-cost options ?
b) as the outstanding number of shares was 210,370,936 , were did the 3,77 mio shares come from?
c) why was no RNS issued as the stock must meet the requirements of an LSE listing.

2. Another service provider indicates that the number of outstanding shares on 12/03/2021 was 191,311,432.

Question:
a) Did Gulf Keystone buyback 210,370,936-191,311,432=19,059,504 shares in addition to the 1,77 mio shares vested to Jon Ferrier and Sami Zouari?
b) Why did Gulf Keystone not issue an RNS informing the shareholders about this change?

My comment: if JF is shareholder, it is because the cy will pay dividends. As they intend to develop the field, they still need money and the only way to do that is to have a farm in which will not be at current price levels. I don’t know if SZ is also shareholder.

GKP have neither the resources/tools or skillset to carry out a large scale development project. A farm in may be possible , but unlikely. Why would an INOC farm in as opposed to buying the Company ? What advantage would it give them ? It wouldnt help GKP either as most of the BOD would be replaced . Of course we have the possibility that the "new" Chairman and CEO are already in place in either scenario.

However IF there is a farm in then lets hope some /all of the cash is returned to shareholders.

Just out on interest how did you get hold of this "research" which would be highly confidential and the market does not appear to know about.

My research indicates that GKP will not be sold now as the cy will pay a dividend while developing the field.
Possible that they try to raise money (perhaps with IOC) and get the stock listed in Erbil.

Crude oil prices are on a path to highs not seen since 2014, according to one chart analyst.

As the energy sector tracks for its best quarter on record with a year-to-date gain of nearly 40%, there's "clearly some upside" for oil prices as well, Piper Sandler's Craig Johnson told CNBC's "Trading Nation" on Friday.


U.S. West Texas Intermediate crude prices slid half of 1% to around $65.60 a barrel on Friday.

"I could actually see a number that could be north of 100 in the next, say, six to ... 12 months from here," said Johnson, his firm's senior technical research analyst.

The Energy Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLE) is also showing signs of life after a difficult 2020, he said.

"There is clearly a double bottom that has been made and even a higher low that has been made," he said, citing a chart of the 23-stock exchange-traded fund.
