Indeed.

Personally I think that a lot of the problems are down to the fact that the Iraqi government are a shambles and that most of the MPs are simply not qualified to do their jobs.

You've got nepotism, inefficiency, incompetence tribalism and corruption, and when the various committees and such are scheduled to discuss and vote on important issues a lot of them don't even turn up.

And these are the people whose job is to take separate complex Iraqi and Kurdish ways of doing things that they probably don't understand such as salaries and oil & gas contracts/payments and integrate them into unified systems throughout Iraq.

Take the budget amendments concerning the Kurdish costs of production and the unified Oil & Gas Law for instance. They are supposedly to be discussed and voted on in the Iraqi parliament, how are those MPs qualified to have an opinion on the intricacies and complexities of oil & gas contracts.

And on top of that the KRG are determined that they aren't going to give up their constitutional rights and APIKUR are equally determined that they aren't going to give up THEIR rights under their legally binding contracts.

No wonder it's taking so long, but slowly and inch by inch I think we're getting there and I'm of the opinion that Sudani and his Oil Minister both want it done.

They recognise that Iraq NEEDS the pipeline open, they need an alternative route to the Strait of Hormuz and they need the water.

Meanwhile GKP are covering their costs, nothing has changed, and I see the current share price action simply as hedge funds and other shorters taking advantage of the situation and the news vacuum.

Things should become clearer after the visits by Barzani and Sudani to Washington.

More patience needed.

PM Barzani to Meet Secretary Blinken in Washington Today.

ERBIL — Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani is scheduled to meet with United States Secretary of State Antony Blinken on Monday, discussing regional developments and bolstering bilateral ties.

According to the official website of the US Department of State, PM Barzani's meeting with Secretary Blinken is scheduled for 11 am Washington time, corresponding to 7 pm Erbil time.

PM Barzani arrived in Washington, D.C. on Sunday for an official visit, accompanied by a delegation from the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG).
