The AGM is a week on Friday the 16th

It's hard to imagine how it can be kept secret for very long because 329 Iraqi MPs are expected to debate and vote on it this coming week.

And if there is anything in the "minor amendments" of that "secret deal" that affects GKP and the other IOCs they are legally obliged to tell the market about it.

So if the IOCs ARE affected then we should get to hear about it no later than Friday next week (16th) at the AGM.

And if the Kurds demands to restore the old version of the budget are to be settled with "minor amendments" I think we can dismiss the shutting in of Kirkuk and Nineveh fields with the loss to the Kurds of 200kbpd and a loss of sovereignty over a chunk of Kurdistan.

I wouldn't disagree with that tbh. I personally think Genel will use it's >£1bn arbitration settlement together with finance to have a slice of GKP.... but only if either company is not taken over first.... I am most worried about Genel being taken over cheap tbh.

“The Kurds demands to restore the old version of the budget will be settled by a secret political agreement, with minor amendments that do not anger the leaders of the Coordination Framework, according to the sources.”

That sounds good….. I think..?

Good find.

The ICG needs the Kurds support in all elections. Have they done a deal with Maliki and his Iranian mates ? If so it will pass.

There are a few reasons for the court case.

1) Damage the KRG/ICG budget deal including the HCL.

2) Crash the share price to allow a final buying spree by those in the know and assuming the
HCL will be passed.

(3) To help Erdogan win the election

(4) Combination of 2/3

Take your pick.

Nina65, shares bought are much more of a pointer than the blather coming out of Iraq.

Anyone short should congratulate themselves and exit stage left.... do a Philip Scholfield, Rolf Harris or Jimmy Saville and disappear with ill gotten gains.

Petebreeze - have you not read the extensive work Iraq has been doing to attract foreign investment? They will cut a deal with Turkey as Turkey need the money and the infrastructure is there - It might not be today, this week or next week but it will happen. I am not stupid but a million hard earned pounds of mine rides on this between this and Genel - I can afford to lose it but I know that I won't.

Personally I wouldn't believe any piffle coming out from Iraq about the opening. It will open once turkey says so.
On a second point why has it taken 9 years for the court case to get resolved. Who resurrected it at a convenient time, guess who!

Sell order placed at £50k - that is the maximum individual trade my broker will let me do. I think £2.50 is a realistic initial place for me to consider shifting a few to fund other projects - happy to hold for the long term with the rest of my funds.

I am going to stick a £50k sale on the market tommorow at £2.50 to try to catch some desperate shorters exiting the market ... I doubt they will be enjoying the Sunday sunshine today....

Jack Ladd... Rocket... but where to?

- The pipeline turning back on will be the first ramp up; the second will be clarification on the outstanding payments
- The clear desire from Iraq to attract more investment into the sector will result in a joint desire to create political stability to promote investment
- The water shortage in Southern Iraq will prompt cuts to be from that region if Opec cut
- Brent Crude is up
- Some lovely photos online of Erdogan's dinner party last night

I would play conservative and say a £2 on pipeline opening and closer to £3 on payments coming back through; at least a fiver for takeover talk.

I should be out paddleboarding but thought I would check in on the news!

"Iraq is in talks with Turkey to resume northern oil exports via Ceyhan, Iraqi Oil Minister Hayyan Abdul Ghani said in a televised interview on Rudaw channel.

The latest talks are going well and exports will restart shortly, Abdul Ghani said."
