Weve been suggesting you hold or own Oil Stocks since the Coronavirus crash back in March last year and I still think its a valid argument.

If (oil) companies spend less and the stockpiles of the product they sell increase in value, then that means they will be more profitable.

Great timing by GKP ahead of schedule to go towards 55000 BOPD in Q4 2021 ;-)

All in all, US oil output has dropped by around 1.9 million barrels a day compared to its pre Covid peak. Notes Bloomberg again, thats like knocking both Nigerian and Venezuelan production out of the market.

As Bloomberg reports, these companies are actually generating cash flow now as opposed to burning through investors money. Thats at least partly because they have held back on new supply. Theyre saving cash instead of spending money to ramp up output at all costs.

Brent oil hit $75 a barrel for the first time in more than two years amid signs of a rapidly tightening market.

Futures in London edged above that mark in early Asian trading after rising 1.9% in the previous session, the most in four weeks. The market continues to firm in a bullish structure, with one time spread for West Texas Intermediate (WTI) expanding to the widest backwardation in seven years.

The Dividend; Special Dividend & the future 10 percent Share Buyback & retirement will most definitely appeal to PIs & Institutions.With just 2 working days left (to be safe & qualify) before the cut off of the 1st dividend on 25/6, I think we will see quite a few GKP buys this week & the lure of the 2nd dividend will ensure they all hold too as the dividend payout dates are just 35 days apart on 2/7 & 6/8 ;-)
