Well you wouldn't want to be drawing water in from the flanks as SC reckons but what is the excuse for finding it plum bang smack in the middle of the field at S12/S13?

More evidence to support my opinion that the field has shrunk massively?

The US government declared a state of emergency on Sunday after the largest fuel pipeline in the US was hit by a ransomware cyber-attack.

The Colonial Pipeline carries 2.5 million barrels a day - 45% of the East Coast's supply of diesel, gasoline and jet fuel.

It was completely knocked offline by a cyber-criminal gang on Friday and is still working to restore service.

The amendment to the Jones Act enables fuel to be transported by road.

Experts say fuel prices are likely to rise 2-3% on Monday, but the impact will be far worse if it goes on for much longer.

Multiple sources have confirmed that the ransomware attack was caused by a cyber-criminal gang called Dark Side, who infiltrated Colonial's network on Thursday and took almost 100GB of data hostage.

After seizing the data, the hackers locked the data on some computers and servers, demanding a ransom on Friday. If it is not paid, they are threatening to leak it onto the internet.

Colonial said it is working with law enforcement, cyber-security experts and the Department of Energy to restore service.

On Sunday evening it said that although its four mainlines remain offline, some smaller lateral lines between terminals and delivery points are now operational..................................

Cyber Attack Halts Colonial Pipeline Operations

Colonial Pipeline Company has revealed that the business learned it was the victim of a cybersecurity attack on May 7.

The company, which noted that the incident involves ransomware, said that, in response, it proactively took certain systems offline to contain the threat, which temporarily halted all pipeline operations and affected some of its IT systems.

Colonial Pipeline also revealed that a leading third-party cybersecurity firm was engaged and that this company has launched an investigation into the nature and scope of the incident. Colonial Pipeline said it had contacted law enforcement and other federal agencies, including the Department of Energy which is leading the Federal Government response.

“Maintaining the operational security of our pipeline, in addition to safely bringing our systems back online, remain our highest priorities,” Colonial Pipeline said in a company statement.

“Over the past 48 hours, Colonial Pipeline personnel have taken additional precautionary measures to help further monitor and protect the safety and security of … [our] pipeline,” the company added.

“At this time, our primary focus continues to be the safe and efficient restoration of service to our pipeline system, while minimizing disruption to our customers and all those who rely on Colonial Pipeline. We appreciate the patience and outpouring of support we have received from others throughout the industry,” Colonial Pipeline went on to state.

As of May 9, Colonial Pipeline’s mainlines (Lines 1, 2, 3, and 4) remain offline, although some smaller lateral lines between terminals and delivery points are now operational. The company said on Sunday that it is in the process of restoring service to other laterals and that it will bring its full system back online only when it believes it is safe to do so and in full compliance with the approval of all federal regulations.

Report: Russian Criminal Group Suspected in Colonial Pipeline Ransomware Attack

TEHRAN (FNA)- A Russian criminal group may be responsible for a ransomware attack that shut down a major US fuel pipeline, two sources familiar with the matter claimed on Sunday.

The group, known as DarkSide, is relatively new, but it has a sophisticated approach to the business of extortion, the sources said, NBC News reported.

Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo stated Sunday that the White House was working to help Colonial Pipeline, the Georgia-based company that operates the pipeline, to restart its 5,500-mile network.

The system, which runs from Texas to New Jersey, transports 45 percent of the East Coast's fuel supply. In a statement Sunday, the company announced that some smaller lateral lines were operational but that the main lines remained down.

"We are in the process of restoring service to other laterals and will bring our full system back online only when we believe it is safe to do so, and in full compliance with the approval of all federal regulations," the company added.

Raimondo noted on CBS' "Face the Nation" that the effort to restart the network was "an all-hands-on-deck effort right now".

"We are working closely with the company, state and local officials to make sure that they get back up to normal operations as quickly as possible and there aren't disruptions in supply," she said, adding, "Unfortunately, these sorts of attacks are becoming more frequent. They're here to stay."

The federal government is working with the Georgia-based company that shut down a major pipeline transporting fuel across the East Coast after a ransomware attack, the White House announced, according to The AP.

A White House official said Sunday that the Energy Department is leading the government's response. Agencies are planning for a number of scenarios in which the region's fuel supply takes a hit, the official added.
