Exactly! The BBC is supposed to be a public service provider. They should educate people who need educating in this matter. It is not rocket science. Also it is NOT about throwing money at the problem. It is simple very basic skills. Eating hearty nutritional food is easy and cheap. Just stay clear of the usual Alcohol, Cigarettes, Cakes and Biscuits etc and concentrate on healthy staple ingredients. All these unhealthy fat people who are so under educated they cannot do anything for themselves apart from use their smart phone to order Just East and sit on their fat bottoms. It is not more MONEY they need it is Education! These people need to stop feeling sorry for themselves and eat healthy and do some bloody exercise! This will also empower them as they are able to cook and feel better with good nutrition and fresh air. Stop throwing money at a problem and instead throw some bloody common sense!

this is what i have been saying,to get a average of 83 the age comes out at 91.5 years so whats the problem with this country??????

why is there no programme on the tv to show meals that you can make from very little money its very suspicious that they dont do this especially the bbc who's job is to do things like this to help the population or is it because its not only a black issue..

plus they never go into one of these starving peoples homes to see what they are spending their money on???

Supermarky, a local foodbank wanted donations and gave a list. The list included tinned tuna.

We all know that tuna is expensive, and that pilchards are dirt cheap.

Fugging daft do-gooders create more problems than they solve.

Supermarky - You have encapsulated what every half intelligent person already knows but cannot say in open forum as it is political suicide.I sometimes despair at the over zealous political correctness of this BAME society!! spud

I could feed my family of four for a week certainly for £25 to £30 and this would be good nutritional food made from scratch. Planning and education needed with basic kitchen with a pan and cutlery etcShopping list:Carrots Onions Seasonal vegSeasonal fruitPasta PotatoesCheeseBreadCerealMilkBaked beansPulsesBarley, Lentils, Peas, Chickpeas, CheeseEggsButterFrozen FishChicken (Whole) which can do for multiple meals and the carcass for a chicken soup. Keep out of the cake, biscuit, crisps, alcohol and processed food isles of which there are many.Go shopping for best before deals.Plan, plan, plan,Cook in batchesFreeze meals to eat laterEnjoy cooking some lovely home made food from scratch. Nutritional products do not cost the earth. Cooks soups and stews etc. Do not buy any takeaways. You will feel happy and healthier once you cut out all the processed rubbish foods.

One of the reasons the UK has quite a lot of deaths to Covid is we have high population density and lots of people who are unfit, high bmi and are generally being kept alive last their sell by date by modern day drugs. I live in the North East and there are generations of people who have made bad lifestyle choices, eat rubbish food, never exercise and a lot of it is a lack of education (not necessarily money!) in this country people always want to throw money at a problem. I can make a highly nutritious pan of vegetable soup which can feed my family for a few quid. It is a out education, planning etc. Stop buying Just East Takeways. Stop Smoking Stop buying Chocolate, Biscuits, Cake, Alcohol, Crisps, Processed Foods, Pizza etc. Start buying carrots, onions, fresh basic ingredients and cook nutritious home meals. Gain a skill and cook from scratch. Some meals take 5 to 10 minutes. Do some exercise. Go for a walk! It is a matter of education. Lots of people pay £30 /£50 for a just eat takeway and then complain they have no money. Our western society should be educating the so called poor to live well for less and by doing this it will empower them

Executives still seem to be getting bonuses - and worse - selling equity Insiders buying doesn't guarantee a recovery but insiders selling is usually a good sign of doom(I don't see any real financial stress here, but just can't see a quick recovery)

They seem to be different variants all on a similar South Africa/Kent theme with natural selection pushing the virus towards combing the two When SA/Kent becomes the dominant strain then existing vaccines won't work as well but should offer some protection

Wouldn't worry about a covid/Ebola - if it's as bad as Ebola there's no controversy about locking down and it thus gets snuffed out naturally

There only a handful of variants of concern these have come about in the last few months

There are tens of thousands of mutated variants yes , since the start of the pandemic

VOC's are getting worse it would seem as case numbers have risen and many people have incubated them whilst lying sick for months in ICU settings , many such patients being immunosuppressed

There are hundreds of new variants. Why is the Japan one an issue?

GSK has had more than its fair share of problems and has never been a stellar growth performer but I can't help that this fall is way, way overdone. Some weird algorithmic fund buying perhaps at least in part more orchestrated by those pesky robots? Anyway, yes, this looks grim but they are better than this and will fight their way back. Sectoral factors too as AZ hardly looking the darling it was a few months ago. AIMHO, DYOR etc.

Casino mode indeed. Guess we should be investing in something with zero intrinsic worth. Bitcoin 12 times the Market cap of GSK. Makes tulips bulbs circa 1600s look like a sensible bet.
