buywell believes due to one fact alone

The politicians greatest hope ---- vaccines ----- will not save us

That is because less than 50% of people will be given vaccines and the efficacy of a vaccine will be circa only 70% ie only 35% max of the world will ever be immunized and not spreading Covid-19 whilst the other 65% are

Generally de-mergers/spin-offs have a good record of delivering share holder value - the converse of large M&A which usually destroys value Like others - I'm in no rush while the divi keeps landing

All the analysts seem fairly positive on this one with a target price of 18 so I have added a few. We are closer to the end of all this than the start so things should start to pick up soon..

Guidance in Feb was for -1% to -4% decline, which they said at the interims they were maintaining, however this could drop a further 5% if there was another 3 months delay in vaccinations.

Current EPS forecasts are for a 7% yoy EPS decline. Therefore it seems that a certain amount of downside is factored in already

Monty,
What were the "side effects" you experienced getting that Shingrix jab out of interest....

I like it as my income portfolio is mainly infra/CRE/specialist financials - so this is a good diversifier Check out BPCR too for income - a life sciences loan fund - 7 yield - no/little leverage - however they've some large single loan exposures

I paid for an extra pneumonia vaccination this year
as it's over 12 years since my NHS one.

GP said no to another jab, which is fair enough, so went to Boots in Woking for one.

In the US a pneumonia booster is often given every 5 years.

Not all, RB upped guidance yesterday as one example.

Take your point though, as it applies to many listed equities.

They will have some form of outlook. They need it if only for production purposes. Plus R&D progress is not fully dependent on the pandemic.

Yes Berenberg said revenue going to lag because of Coronavirus. It's not rocket science, but a safe 5.9% dividend on the doormat every 13 weeks, getting paid to wait for recovery. Unlike banks, oils, airlines, retail, leisure sectors, no dividends.Pharma and tech the only place to be. I hope GSK hit 1325p before ex div, filling my boots.

It will be the outlook that will take the focus rather than the historical numbers. An update on the split would be very helpful.
