25/8/2020 18:31 | Gecko: reinfected/ different strain/ Just like flu, a yearly jab. | zingaro
25/8/2020 16:14 | 16 odd vaccines all being worked on. Will any be "efficacious" enough?? It seems one can be infected for a second time..different strain clearly. "Hong Kong confirms first case of COVID-19 reinfection anywhere in the World" And now, researcher | geckotheglorious
25/8/2020 16:01 | No vaccine has ever been so economically important Manufacturing is being built for specific vaccines that may not actually work Plus AI speeds up the process a lot | williamcooper104
25/8/2020 15:58 | The general feeling in the markets is that they do not believe that there is going to be a successful corona virus vaccine in the short term, most successful vaccine have taken up to five years to come on line. | abdullla
25/8/2020 09:47 | Only person plumbing the depths M99991 is the person making fallacious claims. "If you need your hand holding and your head to be patted, maybe you are in the wrong game?" Which would be YOU, clearly! FYI. I don't view investing as a game but a serious enterprise. "My point stands. GSK issue plenty of positive RNS" Not recently in relative terms to AZN it hasn't. Which was my observation you decided to pointless nitpick over. No one said GSK wasn't a value/income play. And I don't disagree it is currently good value. | geckotheglorious
25/8/2020 09:14 | Why worry about daily price movements, GSK is a core holding for most people's portfolio, not a for trading. Sit back cast iron 5.22% yield, dividend cheque on the doormat every 13 weeks. | montyhedge
25/8/2020 09:01 | Yawn, puerile nitpicking. I'm sure you're fully aware of the gist of my point. More news, most of it positive , is why AZN trades far higher than GSK... | geckotheglorious
25/8/2020 08:55 | Yes, if you ignored the 11 days where AZN didn't have any RNS in August | m99991
25/8/2020 08:31 | Not a day goes by without Astra announcing something or other. GSK,on the other hand, seems very quiet. "AstraZeneca starts trial of Covid-19 treatment" | geckotheglorious
24/8/2020 16:35 | Tomorrow maybe back to where it started today . | abdullla
24/8/2020 09:30 | Investors in COVID-19 stocks face turmoil in coming weeks on vaccine data readouts Investing in companies with COVID-19 pipeline candidates, both treatments and vaccines, has been a winner since March but there is a near-certainty of rough seas next month and beyond when companies release results from ongoing studies and new large-scale trials. Aimed at quick approval, the FDA has set a relatively low bar for vaccine efficacy, 50% compared to placebo, so the first to report, assuming positive data, should see a spike in buying with commensurate softness in certain competitors. Gains in early leaders may quickly evaporate if subsequent data readouts show better immunogenicity as investors react to new frontrunners. | geckotheglorious
24/8/2020 08:59 | Dividend safe has anything.https://see | montyhedge
22/8/2020 01:25 | I don't get the anti mask thing either Was very clear from the outset that it was highly likely that it stopped/limitedsprea | williamcooper104
22/8/2020 01:22 | I was taking 4K most days in the winter Now of it when it's sunny and 2k when it's not | williamcooper104
22/8/2020 01:21 | Yep - for sure we will know soon I dose myself every winter with vit D It's not absolutely certain that it helps with CV19 but there seems to be a lot of circumstantial evidence that it does Not least the greater risk factor for black/Asians living here relative to living in warmer climates | williamcooper104
21/8/2020 17:27 | That was the total amount, not daily. 200,000iu of Vit D3 daily and you would become seriously ill very quickly as it's a fat soluble vitamin stored in the liver. | essentialinvestor
21/8/2020 17:22 | Spot on William. Post 21883. Wearing masks = lowered viral load as well. Don't understand why so many against such. Be interesting to see how things progress mid Sept onwards. 200,000IU of Vit D - how bloody much? That's massively over isn't it? I was taking 4000IU a day which was a tad high...now twice weekly or so. | geckotheglorious
21/8/2020 16:46 | I supplemented with 200,000 IU of Vit D3 in early March as did my better half. That is not a recommendation and well in excess of any recommended dose. In strong enough sun the body can manufacture approx 20,000iu daily. William, expect we will know around mid September time. | essentialinvestor
21/8/2020 16:37 | Alphorn - exactly! | tradermichael
21/8/2020 16:34 | Probably represents infections coming from lower viral loads due to less people indoors and social distancing - plus better general vit D levels - and age profile of those getting it - it's young people going to pubs Don't think there's any evidence yet of the virus losing potency | williamcooper104
21/8/2020 16:24 | The one silver lining atm is COVID hospital admissions remain low even with a rapid acceleration in cases. There will be a lag and we are still In August with fewer other respiratory viruses in circulation. Hopefully it indicates a weakening of the COVID virus. | essentialinvestor
21/8/2020 16:09 | Ftse recovering but pharmas are going down, corona vaccine Fake news is gathering momentum,if true the effect will be a disaster. | abdullla |
