Actually I was quite encouraged. Maybe the Tesaro acquisition not too bad after all if it looks as though Zejula might have greater sales potential on multiple indications

Expecting the share price to grind higher over time

On face value, I tend to think we might get a bit of a rise as all
publicity is still publicity.

Yes but it's like shooting at am open goal. The rewards are huge but the buck stops at the top. She did not get the job because she was the best qualified person for the role.

No idea what they're up to, not sure I've seen an offer like that before.

I think I'll put in an offer in to trc of £5 for 0.1% of the gsk share they own. Nothing to lose.

Testing the water and to see what support the larger funds give to the proposal. Or support they don't give to GSK and the CEO, so forcing the issue and possibly the share price with it.

Mini tender offers are a ruse to trick holders out of their shares, an attempt to catch the unwary off guard. I'm amazed they are even allowed.

(Alliance News) - GlaxoSmithKline PLC on Friday noted a "mini-tender" offer by TRC Capital Investment Corp and recommended its shareholders reject it.

Investment firm TRC Capital intends to purchase up to 3.0 million American depositary shares at a price of USD37.10 each in cash.

As described by TRC Capital, its offer is being made at a 4.5% discount to the closing price of USD38.85 per share on May 21, the last trading day before the offer commenced.

The pharmaceutical company said it "does not endorse" TRC Capital's offer and recommends that ADS holders reject the offer.

GlaxoSmithKline shares were trading 0.7% higher in London on Friday at 1,353.20 pence each. Its ADS were up 0.5% in New York at USD38.91 each.

Made offer 5% below closing price , stated they have done thus many times before with other companies.

Not sure why they would think shareholders would accept it given. They can get 5% more at current prices.
