14/4/2014 12:57 | In September 2013 the Xrate was 68 rupees to the dollar, In early November 2013, the rate was circa 63.80 rupees | azalea
14/4/2014 08:17 | I wasn't expecting todays trading update, but given the expectations for this co are likely already high, the very good update must be 'in line' with expectations at worst and continued optimism for good growth going forward, so would expect some uplift in share price on average. As it is flat as pancake, I put it down to: 1) This is company for long term holders rather than short term traders. 2) The big holders presumably have direct links for progress reports, so public news isn't really news to them. Given recent press on reducing dirty fuels I would expect this to have a subtle effect on GKO, though can't decide if that initiative would mean more business for GKO or more competiton for GKO (for buying further sites). Best guess is both with net gain. No doubt being India it puts many investors off, both private and institutions, but this stigma is ignored when investing in names like shell, whose revenue comes from outside traditional comfort zones of USA/Europe. If you haven't guessed already, I'm a happy long term holder. Is anyone out there?... I can only see tumble-weed being blown along ;-) | dr_smith
14/2/2014 08:19 | The rupee has actually been fairly flat against US dollar last 5 months. Its the Pound that is strengthening recently Fear over emerging markets a bit exaggerated IMO. Although I am prepared to change my mind in an instant if things change. | phowdo
14/2/2014 08:10 | I agree. I bought in at 135p and am staying put. Momentum is strong. | alan@bj
13/2/2014 20:19 | alan@bj I do not know but these people seem like smart cookies, I would expect them to have some sort of hedging in place, they are into a market desperate for their product and do not have to buy in feed stock in dollars, most of the equipment they use and most of the labour is in Rupees, they are vulnerable to the wind but all else looks good at the moment. I can see good gains over the next couple of years that's why I am in and buying more tomorrow, don't borrow against the house though eh, this is AIM after all, best of luck with your plans. | 937huff26
13/2/2014 13:32 | No response from Greenko to my query about the weakness of the rupee. However, Simon Thompson at Investors Chronicle has issued another article today, giving a target price of 225p-230p. Arden Partners target price 245p, Investec's 275p. | alan@bj
10/2/2014 21:22 | Good point, thanks, I will. | alan@bj
10/2/2014 20:07 | alan@bj As the exchange rate for the Indian Rupee to the GBP has worsened, GKO share price has risen as assets have come on stream, as the Rupee improves then the share price should rise further, I do not know whether the company has any financial instruments in place for hedging but you could always ask them. | 937huff26
10/2/2014 09:18 | Anyone have a view about the weakness of the rupee and its effect on the company's earnings? | alan@bj
30/1/2014 14:15 | Bottom of the rising channel now - bounce or drop time ? | par555

10/12/2013 01:23 | I'm not sure I agree that Midas is one of the better tipsters (all tipsters are mere pointers to do you own research) but The Mail must have some sway as nothing in that Midas article is any different to what Simon Thompson or any other person has stated months before. | cyfran101
09/12/2013 12:46 | From a technical point of view for the chartists among us an interesting chart breakout. In fact you could say its a breakout from a flag pattern. | mechanical trader
09/12/2013 12:32 | Hi Doc Smith, Midas is one of the better tipsters hence all the interest today. Gives good updates aswel so we should see further spike days like today. Nothing like doing ones own research though. | mechanical trader
09/12/2013 11:06 | Banking 1 Definitely going to top up, absolutely agree as a mid term play this appears a good storey, selling into an under supplied market is never a bad thing, timing is everything though, there is a substantial difference between the top trending line and the support, I usually aim for the middle we will see, best of luck | 937huff26
09/12/2013 10:12 | Hi Mechanical trader, That probably explains the rise. I find it curious that info over 9 months old should be put into a 'news'paper. Perhaps for PI's it's a case of information overload online and it takes a news article for people to digest what the company is about. | dr_smith |
