Thanks all for the comments.

I have been topping up GSF at these levels (quickly sold GRID on the bounce from high 40s to low 60s as GSF weakened)

One reason why battery fund buybacks seem to be attractive at these levels (other than the usual) is that by reducing the share count it needs less operating cash flow to support future dividends.

Not as guaranteed as they were with the General Electric Company. Its all right for you - your dads got a haulage business

I dont know how often GSF have to hold a continuation vote but I would imagine the next one will be less unanimous if things dont buck up

CousinIT.

Halving the dividend snd spending that money on buybacks is unlikely to work and removes a big current plus, that big dividend.

An increasing number of Trusts are realising that the buyback solution can be ineffective, with the discount to NAV either not narrowing or in some cases widening even more.

Cousin IT, not sure agree on buybacks, but guess it's an option. Your observation that the market has now focused on GST, does explain the weakness, despite knowing that Ferrymuir is up and running. Diversification aside, one of the other key differences is the debt. GSF have non at a PLC level. Major plus

Market seems to be saying that lack of revenue visibility trumps diversification. Will the Board bend and trim the base divi with buybacks when revenues are strong? Or maintain the status quo? Feels like a decent level of buyback might generally be possible if the divi was roughly halved.

Focus obviously moves here now that both Gresham and Harmony have buckled.

The bit that I need explaining is why after the energising of Stoney and Ferrymuir are we lower than we were before? They have had absolutely zero effect on the share price - at least not a positive one.

Nice, thought I'd missed my chance to pick up a few more at sub-65p. Looking forward to the 3% cashback on purchase from the imminent divi :-)

Yep 43% discount to NAV and silence, not a great combo! 🫣

cocopah, that's what the BB's are for, a sharing of differing views and research. Given some of the things you highlight, the next update should read pretty positively. Might even reverse some of the NAV divergence. Good time to buy, if that's correct.

#waterloo01 Hmm I’ve got to disagree. The divergence from a NAV of £1.12 to the current share price is massive. It’s no use saying that it’s similar across the market, that’s what weak management does. In a (relatively) higher interest rate environment a discount of 10-20% would be normal, so the significant discount being seen should be addressed. The share price was only 2p lower than it is now before they were panicked into comms a while back. It’s not hard (and automated not manual) to provide the updates I suggest in the short-term (monthly factsheets are not uncommon). When income has spiked in the past (Texas) they have commented so that have some form in this area. It’s also just plain old common sense to comment on company specific progress (FerryMuir) and market relevant information (relaxation of the 15 min rule and the recent BESS contracts auction). 🤷‍a94;️🤔

What you are asking for is akine to monthly management accounts. Not going to nor should happen. You invest in management to do the job. So far, share price aside, they have done a decent one so far.

So frustrating that we have to ask for info … you’d think that with concerns about the divi cover (which is weighing down the share price) the Investor Relations department would be eager to tell us about such things as energisation of an asset, whether relaxation of the 15min rule is a positive for GSF and whether income is holding-up across the portfolio. As we are back to within pence of all-time lows, silence is not golden! 🤷‍a94;️🫣🤔

Well done Investor Relations. A very speedy reply to my email with confirmation that Ferrymuir has indeed been energised. This news will be included in the next FactSheet update.

If I remember correctly we were informed a month or so after the event that Stoney had been energised by EDF. I hope Ferrymuir has a more positive effect on the share price whenever they fire it up. If not they could try turning them into Shepherd's huts.

George looking at the chart my guess is you mentioned your interest in GSF and Rahul saw a way of making a quick £20. On the other hand he could be talking about GSF the car spares shops. Did he speak much English?
