05/4/2024 11:00 | I'm reposting the Clive Maund article from a couple of weeks ago, as I think his following comment should be important, particularly if POG holds its current levels: "Lastly we can see how horribly undervalued Precious Metals stocks are relative to gold itself on our chart for GDX divided by gold going back to 2001. Only on two other occasions during the life of this chart have they been so undervalued – once at the nadir of the sector depression late in 2015 and early in 2016, and again at the depths of the Covid crash in the Spring of 2020 which was a freak event when the entire world was in the grip of an orchestrated mass psychosis. So, given that gold has entered a bullmarket that is likely to be of awesome magnitude, it should be clear that the upside potential of the better stocks in this sector is truly massive and that, despite their gains of the past couple of weeks they are still at exceedingly good prices compared to where they are headed." Look at the GDX:$GOLD chart at the end of the article: Could you say that GPM:$GOLD is a similar chart over the more recent years? | weyweyumfozo
05/4/2024 09:22 | Yes, I will be waiting :^) Edit - Im still 60% in cash ( money market fund getting 5.25% ) due to nearing retirement but will move some of that into PM shares should that unfold. I checked my physical gold & silver holdings the other day which I have been accumulating for many years and I am up on average 45% on those but wont be selling any of that as that's my insurance. Maybe I will sell an ounce or 2 if I can buy an office block with them as per the stories of Weimar republic ;^) | 1hercule
05/4/2024 09:19 | "The only concern for me is a general stock market selloff which will drag everything down." That happened in March 2020, 1hercule, at the start of the COVID pandemic. GOLD, Silver and GPM tumbled down along with everything else as punters panicked and sold everything. However GOLD, Silver and GPM quickly recovered as GOLD and Silver resumed their bull run. GPM went on to triple in less than 4 months before peaking along with the GOLD price. | papillon
05/4/2024 09:08 | Yes Paps, people have been programmed to take profits on gold as it doesnt last. I think they are wrong on this occasion. The only concern for me is a general stock market selloff which will drag everything down. | 1hercule
05/4/2024 09:06 | Gold price proving to be very resilient. Despite this the weak holders of GPM are selling their shares. 🤣 | papillon

04/4/2024 19:49 | Gold price back above $2300 again! | papillon
04/4/2024 16:35 | Most are expecting a significant correction in precious metals so that they can buy more or buy back in. The bull market isn’t giving them a chance. Silver up again today, gold about to move positive on the day. What a time to own a leveraged investment trust full of small miners! | king_baller
04/4/2024 13:22 | Good morning in Oz - have NAV approaching 40p after this. Ball-park - SP's are really volatile at the moment. US initial jobs claims awaited. | podgyted
04/4/2024 10:36 | yes. a pullback at some stage is quite bullish then off up to the next leg. will always get some sellers who still dont belive it, cant blame them, its been shot for years. I see this as the start for something a lot bigger and im holding rain or shine and will not be shaken out. Diamond hands I belive is the modern expression ;) | stevieweebie2
04/4/2024 10:25 | I wonder when gold will take a breather? $2,350? It would probably be good longer term to see some consolidation at $2,200-$2,300 before a bigger push beyond $2,500. Interesting that gold seems to be ignoring the stagflation / inflation risks in the US and reduced likelihood of US rate cuts. So easy holding GPPM as part of a portfolio and letting someone else do the hard work of allocating to stocks! | jester jim
