Obviously they have attracted interest and managing to hold their attention. Paul Howlett must be earning his corn, making a case for GBP in presenting to the industry and with Namcor. Shame we are not party to the presentations, particularly the one titled "Hunting Elephants"

Interesting there was no reference to the survey activity in the Walvis Basin ;-)

From PCL quarterlies...Three wells planned in the next 12-18 months in the Orange Basin. Obviously not including Venus1, due in a couple of months

Further wells planned in the Walvis basin, also confirmed by AEC

Yes....interesting. As is the reiterative nature of the last few years work on the blocks.....almost like a flyer to attract some additional interest......

"further contacts were made with counterparties in relation to a potential farm-out of PEL 0094 and PEL 0029"

There it is, for three quarters we are still engaged with counterparties, very positive imo

This from AEC last week

"Several operators in Namibia are planning nearby exploration wells this year that could de-risk the remaining PEL 37 prospects."

The above is obviously relating to wells in the Walvis basin, so news due anytime, but have no idea who the operators are currently

We should receive the Quarterly report tomorrow, and hopefully a update on the farmout talks .And the Italy update regarding appeals which were heard in January.

Agreed, Ramford now turned back and looks to be staying in Angola blocks

Broader interest....AEC recently said there are several companies to announce up coming wells. While GBP & TRP have both mentioned twice they are in talks. Other than this, it has been very quiet, which suggests much going on behind the scenes

Certainly if a deal is stuck on both blocks our £4m m/cap will be more like £40m m/cap

Lets see if we get a steer in quarterly report tonight

Ignore Ramform etc. They are hundreds of miles away doing something else. The only relevant thing is the activities of the other ships suggest some broader interest than merely the Exxon blocks........and who knows what that might lead to?

Interesting BPC now have a M/cap of £46m on the back of a potential drill in April (no backer as yet)

GBP sat on over 4Bln barrels of prospective resources and could be close to a deal with a major and two wells....M/cap £4m er....hello ?

PGS in Namibia turned south again

PGS Ramform and co don't appear to be in survey mode as yet, so may join the survey in Namibia yet

I noticed the other day the PGS Ramform Sovereign, Thor Frigg and Thor Assister, headed off to Angola and now I find them surveying in the Exxon blocks, Namibe Basin on the Angola side. Confirms Exxon are in play with PGS

Can't find an angola map as yet but this TRP map shows Exxon blocks to the north in the Angola side and directly below the Namibia side, then TRP in yellow and GBP below them

PGS on the Namibian side have turned north again S18.13/E10.59, which is going up the dividing line between the Exxon blocks and in the fairway again. If you follow that line on the Angola side Ramford and co are coming down that same line heading towards the Angola/Namibia border S16.15/E10.49

On the TRP map on the divide line between the Exxon blocks on the Namibia side, shows a historic well site, this seems to be where PGS have been sweeping up and down

Agreed, the play type is significant, attracting further funding

Edit: from the Q3 report slide 9 "To finance its future acquisition, exploration, development and operating costs, Africa Energy may require additional financing from external sources, including issuance of new shares"

You can't lie to placees about the use of funds. Three wells on that block and general corporate purposes will cover it.But of course the upsizing is more evidence of regional interest - and, more specifically, in the relevant play type.

AEC over subscribed raising $25m plus they have $17m in escrow already for their 4.9% share of three up coming wells. There has to be more to this raise

Edit:: the current increased interest in Namibia and S/Africa is on the back of the Brulpadda well result early last year, re-writing the exploration model. AEC are on the inside of that new concept
