Thanks for the link to the Brexit supporting SPECTATOR. The trouble is with this claim of 350 million a week is it forgets all the EU money that comes back in the form of structural funds. It was by definition a lie since we don't hand over the cash and get nothing back. Btw You could probably give 750 million a week to the nhs by abandoning trident

I can't believe that people believe this rubbish. If spending on the Eu is a tiny proportion of GDP of which we get at least half back mainly for the poorest areas of the UK plus science and research, then there is a simple political decision to shift some of the remaining 99% of public expenditure to the nhs , that does not equate to a Brexit dividend. If the economy is smaller we will have less income as a nation. Now one can ring fence or increase nhs spending but one could have done that whilst being an EU member. Trouble is, we have sold out our nation to those who offer no solutions except either isolationism or globalism but ignoring the big continent next door that shares our values Trip to the Saudi Arabian embassy anyone?

The Prime Minister has committed to spending increases for the NHS over the next five years and promised this would be at least partly funded by a ‘Brexit dividend’. This is not the first time that NHS spending increases have been linked to the UK’s exit from the EU – the now infamous £350 million per week pledge was a significant feature of the 2016 referendum campaign.

Fangorn. There is a misnomer we get told what to do. That is the tabloid press for you. Even Thatcher accepted the concept of joint sovereignty I.e. each country contribute collectively to EU law making...the Brits along with the rest.We make law in many domains where the eu has either no or limited legal competence. We have done so throughout our membership of the EU.There are a lot of positive things from EU law too, worker protection and tough environmental legislation being two examples. you bet your life these will be watered down once the Tory right can do what it likes.

Where's the £350m per week for the NHS? Oh yeah, now I remember

Here!!!

Did you forget?

"£350 million for the NHS: How the Brexit bus pledge is coming true"
Vote Leave’s success has turned the Conservatives into big spenders

UKs contribution to EU is actually higher...at £363m per week gross (or even as high as £1bn per week according to one City analyst)

"The £350m line on the Brexit bus was wrong. The real figure is higher"
Gross payment to Brussels: £18.9 billion a year, or £363 million a week.

Remain also lied and said the rebate couldnt be reduced arbitrarily the EU but had to be agreed by UK / EU

UK to lose EU rebate in 2021 'in extended Brexit transition'
No discount beyond end of 2020 owing to start of new EU budget, says senior Brussels source

Rebate not as solid therefore as Remain claimed.

Nice try lads.

The 350 million a week will turn into less money for the NHS cause we will have a smaller economy innit. Or did Fangorn think that we can do a great trade deal with the EU cause they need us more than we need them?

I didn't vote LEAVE for economic reasons.

I voted for laws, borders, trade and fishing to be controlled solely by UK and not EU

ie I voted for sovereignty and Immigration concerns and the travesty that is Britain's fishing industry.

It is noticeable Fangorn that at the mArch of the 700000 in London, there was no violence or trouble, just good natured humour. Yet the first sign of another referendum and you feel the need to threaten civil strife..

What 700,000???

There weren't that many at all.

Based on 5 people per M2, allowing for trees and obstacles, the crowd filling the area was at a maximum 220,000 odd.

700,000 my aunt fannny.

Why do you think overturning a democratic vote before it is even implemented wont result in civil strife?

Why do you think that those who have waited decades for any say wont get bloody angered by their vote being overturned before it has been implemented?

I'm intrigued why you think Leave will just accept that their vote doesnt count.

Enlighten me

I don't think you realise how angry most Leavers are.

We were denied any say for 41 years whilst you Remoaners had your way, despite the terms of membership changing materially.

We finally got a say, despite being ignored for 41 years.

To have our say before it has even been implemented will not be accepted and civil strife will follow - Game over for democracy.

Not sure why you halfwits don't understand that.

Simply vote again with a better understanding of the facts, the costs, benefits and the impacts

What facts? The ones pedalled by Project Fear 24.7 for last three years with each new lie being more farcical and unbelievable than the last!!!

Another Project Fear lie bites the dust.

"EU says British citizens will not need visas to visit member states in event of no-deal"

People had an awareness of the costs of membership but neither the costs of leaving or the benefits of staying. Now they have a much better idea

Rubbish.
What are the benefits of staying then? Remain couldn't elucidate on such during the Reffy and still haven't. There's no status quo - just closer Union. You do realise that right?

Afraid of losing 2nd time around Fangorne?

Ah that dishonest line

If you wont accept the vote what's the point of democracy and voting at all?
Let's have an authoritarian govt instead.

Personally I'm happy for another Reffy - in 41 years time ie the same time it took for you to give us one.

If it's a vote on Leave with Wto deal / Leave with May's Deal / Leave with CETA happy to have that next week.

But Leave / Remain question has been settled for a generation.

Tide isn't turning at all

Independent - small sample size. Clearly going to be biased, as biased as the last risible effort claiming UK would be 54% Remain: 46% Leave now.

You overturn Brexit we get civil war.

LOL

SURELY NOT CIVIL WAR, CROMWELL

Hi Ken, nice to see you over here in GLEN. Yes I'm completely out of both Shire and Randgold and I was fortunate enough to make decent turn. But not quite sure how to judge Glencore. Think it looks great value and it is extremely volatile so this could go anywhere. Good luck.

Hi REDTOM I see you've moved over to GLEN did you bail out completely on RRS I know you had a good run on it.

SHP doing well recently.

I have a modest holding in GLEN at present just looking to top up at these levels and I am actually hoping for around the 290 to 292 mark as copper is under pressure at the moment.

PS hope your not all in again but if you are good luck TOM I wish you well.

Ken.
