17/1/2008 12:45 | Who knows! Amazing that with a MCPA on £800k they've got a few million in cash too! Shows the faith the market has in them | stuart14
17/1/2008 12:42 | I understood that the purchase of Electic was to be the saviour of Glen ... What happened ? | tonytravel
16/1/2008 15:09 | Taken from the RNS 19/12/07 : "Glen Group's chief executive Graham Duncan said: "This transaction will provide us with the funds to allow us to make further inroads into the market we know best and to also build the group by acquiring communications and IT solutions businesses which address the SME market."" The way i see it is it will have a positive effect, providing they obviously put the proceeds to use wisely. always good for a company to concentrate on what they're good at and look forward to there next statement. | rokkie

07/1/2008 12:21 | 0.6p would be nice at this price. | knowing
07/1/2008 12:13 | one way to recover something from this would be for Mr Duncan to admit this has been a balls up, and hand the 2.5 mil cash back to shareholders. | currypasty
04/1/2008 11:15 | Well EGM is today and I assume the sale will occur. So £2.25 million being more than the market cap it should surely have some positive impact? | ljsquash
19/12/2007 09:11 | curry , to get you money back at this level.. the mkt cap @ 2p would have to be 22mill, and at 3p, 32mill.. that is virtually impossible.. the maximum outcome at this level is the cash level @ 0.27p.. or whatever.. if they managed to acquire another company from the cash resources with no dilution and the company performs fantastically well, you might have a chance of recovery.. BUT consider 1. management 2. time taken ( which could be many yrs) ... i can't see that happening.. to be honest.. you will not get your money back... suggestion: damage limitation and move on.. good luck.. saffy.. | safman
19/12/2007 09:04 | not much chance of that for me, most of mine are at 3, and 2p Im giving them till april, if no sign of recovery they will be dumped for CGT loss. | currypasty
19/12/2007 08:56 | i've been watching this one for a while.. this share was never for shareholder..simple as..the constant dilution at lower prices.. ( that is a sigh to avoid like the plague at this level on AIM).. lack of dir buys.. reducing dir holdings.. that was a sigh in itself.. the best possible outcome now for you guys is for shareholders to get their cash back.. saffy | safman
19/12/2007 08:42 | When Eclectic was brought into Glen it was considered ideal for the companies strategy - does the company know where it is going ? | tonytravel
19/12/2007 08:00 | What a stupid move. IG Group and Eclectic are probably to 2 best parts of the business, both make a profit, both have good names in the BI Consulting world. Seems a pure act of desperation to me | stuart14
19/12/2007 07:54 | looking at the shareprice chart, it may be better handing the 3m cash back to shareholders ? | currypasty
19/12/2007 07:53 | RNS Number:2296K Glen Group PLC 19 December 2007 Glen Group Plc Date 19 December 2007 Proposed Sale of IT Consulting and Training Business Glen Group plc ("Glen" or "the Company") announced today that it has entered into a conditional agreement ("the agreement") relating to the sale of the business and assets of its wholly owned subsidiaries, Eclectic Group Limited ("Eclectic") and I G Software Limited ("inGroup") for the sum of up to £3.00m payable in cash ("the Sale"). The agreement, which is subject to Glen shareholder consent and final approval from the purchaser's bankers, is with Maxima Information Group Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Maxima Holdings plc ("Maxima"), an AIM listed IT solutions and managed services company. It is understood that Maxima intends funding the purchase from operational cash flows and existing facilities with their bankers. The maximum sale price represents a value per issued Ordinary Share of 0.272p, which equates to a premium of 101.5% compared to the closing middle market price on 18 December 2007 of 0.135p, which valued the entire Glen group, including the businesses not being sold, at £1.6m. Commenting today Graham J Duncan Chief Executive Officer said: "This transaction will provide us with the funds to allow us to make further in roads into the market we know best and to also build the Group by acquiring communications and IT solutions businesses which address the SME market. In the current economic climate and as a consequence of the proposed changes to the capital gains tax rules, we are ideally placed, with our strengthened balance sheet, to achieve this" | currypasty
16/11/2007 18:09 | There are a few things I would like to see from Glen (to add transparency to my post I have a small holding at 0.48): - A share consolidation - Director dealings from the new directors, top ups from existing directors - The jobs on their site going ( they've been there ever since I invested in June - A possible name change They started to trade on the Plus market to "enhance investor choice, improve liquidity for shareholders and provide greater access to investors" but they would also benefit from tighter spreads if they didn't have nearly a billion shares out there. This I beleive would improve their liquidity. The latest advances with Unified Communications in Exchange 2007, Office Comminications Server 2007 should also be benificial to Glen as the VoIP cababilities of these products are pretty good and are apparently easy to deploy and manage. | dreamsurfer141
08/11/2007 20:48 | Hood winked into must have share by svs securities, bunch of t*ssers | saudi prince
08/11/2007 09:56 | GraBro - Apologies, just checked price again 0.55p not 55p !!! | tonytravel
08/11/2007 09:52 | GraBro - WOW,£550,000 !!! I was recommended the shares by City Equities - unfortunately not doing too well at the moment. Although I only have £2K at risk. I have found CE not too bad though - they also recommended Galleon and Regency Mining which have done well for me. I do feel that the shares will return in value - to what level who knows ! | tonytravel |
