03/12/2018 12:42 | Here is the reason: Shares of Tesaro Inc. TSRO, +59.55% shot up over 58% in premarket trade Monday, after the biopharmaceutical company agreed to be acquired by GlaxoSmithKline PLC GSK, -4.30% for $5.1 billion in cash. Glaxo's stock fell 3.3% ahead of the open. Under terms of the deal, Glaxo will pay $75 in cash for each Tesaro share outstanding, a 62% premium to Friday's closing price. Glaxo said it expects the deal to add to adjusted earnings per share by 2022, but will impact adjusted EPS for the first two years by "mid-to-high single-digit percentages." | alphorn

03/12/2018 12:32 | No inside info (lol Tim), just spend a lot of time researching this one. (Nice when the plan comes together!) Looks like the market expected a higher price on the Horlicks deal, though: Unilever has won its bid to snap up GSK's malted milk drink Horlicks, after announcing a deal to buy the brand as well as Glaxo's entire health drinks portfolio in Asia for £3.1bn. The part-cash, part-shares deal will free up funds for GSK to spend on its pharmaceutical business, where it has been busy boosting its pipeline of drugs. Horlicks is sold in India through GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare (GSK India), a listed company in which GSK owns a 72.5pc stake. | tradermichael
