Well the BOE is behind the curve, only because the Tories wanted no increases before the election, get in with a substantially better majority then light the fuse..well they are now between a rock and a hard place lol

Still they are going to have to start raising rates, sooner the better, otherwise, they may need go raise rates higher & quicker than planned, which will send shock waves around a very toppy market.

I will wait for 1652p or better.

Worst case scenario 1590p support, may see a retrace to 1652p, not enough fuel to get through 1715p yet. Nice quarterly divi though.

I would like to suggest that a close below 1680 is bearish with an opportunity to short down to 1560.

Having been short from 1718 I may be seeing what I want to see!

On the R&D spend is he comparing the % as group turnover or as a % of the pharmaceutical business? The consumer side needs a lot less R&D and can sustain more debt

There may be a question of where the cash balances are sitting and how they get repatriated to the parent company. Often an issue with international groups.

I don't necessarily disagree with the content, but on point 3, the CFO has been explicit about wanting to carry more debt because it's cost-effective financing. Personally, I think it's crazy to borrow money to pay dividends & invest when you already have a cash mountain, albeit one that's bleeding dividends, but what do I know?

Getting nervous here ..... the GSK rise has happened too quickly, the DJ is at record highs, UK/EU politics is dragging the economy ..... I made 3 sales on the way here:

22 Jun: 7868 @ 1719.63
Kept the rest (12611).
