Whilst I do think it's still too soon to make a judgment on either stock, I have been surprised at how badly both have performed so far (and I always felt uneasy about the split given my misgivings about GSKs long-established pipeline underperformance).I cannot believe I was looking at £18.17 a week for the combined group prior to the demerger and didn't take it :(

It may need to rebuild its own debt pile? Need to wait for the first financials.
I don't see the de-merger as being from strength, more an example of financial engineering. There are arguments that prescription only medicines would enhance value by developing line extensions that would be sold OTC; Voltaren is a good recent example being sold OTC as 25mg tablets plus creams etc etc.
The next example of pharma financial engineering may be a float of the Novartis generic manufacturer Sandoz.

If it keeps going down like this i will be adding to my gsk investment quicker than first thought. Just bought in earlier this week as an investment with good divi in a sector i was not exposed to. Might get a few more if the opportunity presents itself. Buy and hold for the divi
