Am I right in thinking that the net debt they are putting onto Haleon is about the same amount that GSK and Pfizer will be taking out as dividend.(I think I read somewhere £7B for GSK and £3B for Pfizer)

In the year ended 31 December 2021 the profit before tax attributable to Haleon was GBP1,636 million. As at 31 March 2022 the gross assets of Haleon were GBP45,023 million. On an unaudited pro forma basis, net debt of Haleon as at 31 March 2022 would have been GBP10,349 million.

How much debt will Haleon carry? Why do you think Pfizer wants to dump it? To release funds?

The last time I had shares in a drug company that featured on the front page of the Daily Mail, it was British Biotech with their Phase II results for Marimastat, a ‘new cancer wonder drug’ - I am sure some of you will recall what happened next!!
That said, it is promising news, not least for the potential benefit of cancer patients.

Pharma shares are being sold in favour of the shares that had collapsed during the corona reign of terror, currently there are bargains to be had but GSK is not one of them .

Doctors are left stunned after cancer 'disappears' for EVERY patient in drug trial - raising hopes treatment is 'tip of the iceberg' and can be used to help people fighting other forms of the disease
Clinical trials for the drug dostarlimab in treating colorectal cancer have had incredible results, curing all patients of their cancer
One researcher at New York's Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center said that it was the 'first time this has happened' in a cancer trial
Researchers say that the success of this monoclonal antibody drug is especially important for people of younger ages as cancer treatment can harm fertility
It is still too early to declare the drug a cancer cure because the trial was small and limited in scope, researchers note, with only 18 participants
The doctors are now expanding the trial for patients with gastric, prostate, and

Dostarlimab, a monoclonal antibody drug, smashed expectations in a recent trial run by Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York, sponsored by pharmaceutical giant GlaxoSmithKline (GSK).

If you are holding on 15th July you will get shares in Haleon, but there will be a share consolidation of GSK, so the value of your shares in GSK will go down.

Though the value of your Haleon & GSK shares should (in theory) be worth the same.

Hopefully this will create better value going forward.

AZN down heavily over Alexion deal. Seems to be dragging GSK down with them. About to break down thru 1700 barrier. And the market up over one percent!!

I'd guess Pfizer had to indicate their intention to dispose of their 32% because this is part of the three way GSK/Pfizer/Haleon agreement in launching Haleon, and therefore had to be made public for transparency, along with the locked-in period during which they can't make the disposal.

Prospectuses are bound by a wide range of disclosure regulations and requirements designed to protect prospective investors.

Trying to understand how it can be in Pfizer's interest to announce before the float that they are going to dispose of their third of Haleon at the earliest opportunity. Although they will be forced to wait a few months, this must have a significant effect on the initial price. Not so?
