Stockhunters, There were hey days in the bull run in the 1980's when a company priced at 1 p shot up to £10 within a few months (retail stock). There was one stock at 10 p that had gone up to £30 (fruit and veg trading). You wouldn't believe that companies in those sectors could shoot up so much. Anyway, there were numerous penny stocks most of which had been subsequently used as a shell company via an RTO, all of which had progressed to become much bigger. Happy days for everyone all round.

In present days people are always talking about high tech stocks. There are obviously stocks in other sectors that can do wonders, of which I have mentioned (pharma and mining / natural resources).

Investing is meant to be for the long term, such as pensions. There are too many day traders (nothing wrong with that), who may scalp a few hundred pounds or even a few thousand pounds if they are lucky. Day traders may cause damage to themselves if they are trapped in a large losing position. The first cut is the best, but it is too emotional for anyone to accept that they have lost money.

On many occasions, I have made little profit by selling early because the share price is not really moving in the right direction. Those stocks shoot up only after I have sold. I could only sigh for the mis-timing.

I have learnt my lessons over the years. The best and most profitable method is to stay the course for much bigger and sure profit once you have identified an excellent company, which will prove itself in due course. You sell only when events start to turn sour.

Anyone selling here from the placing is losing money so cannot be that many sellers

Usually in that 2-3 month drilling window the big money start loading up especially in helium plays

December drill give it a few weeks and money will start coming in here

crazy you can still buy here given all recent news and presentations

THE GEOLOGY AND HYDROCARBON POTENTIAL OF THE NORTH-WESTERN OFFICER BASIN

Abstract

Recent petroleum exploration in EP 186 and EP 187 in the north-western Officer Basin has greatly increased knowledge of the regional stratigraphy, structure and petroleum prospectivity of the region. This exploration programme has involved the drilling of two deep stratigraphic wells (Dragoon 1 and Hussar 1) and the acquisition of 1438 km of seismic data. Integration of regional gravity and aeromagnetic data with regional seismic and well data reveals that the Gibson Sub-basin primarily contains a Proterozoic evaporitic sequence. In contrast, the Herbert Sub-basin contains a Late Proterozoic to Cambrian clastic and carbonate sequence above the evaporites. This sequence, which was intersected in Hussar 1, is identified as the primary exploration target in the Western Officer Basin. The sequence contains excellent reservoir and seal rocks in association with mature source rocks. Major structuring of the basin has also been caused by compressive movements associated with the Alice Springs Orogeny. The northwestern Officer Basin thus has all of the ingredients for the discovery of commercial hydrocarbons.



Really looking forward to seeing what they find when they deepen the well.

Dear fellow investors, There are only a few sectors where we could all make a decent amount of money quickly:
1) technology (a new invention);
2) pharmaceutical (a new drug);and
3) mining and natural resources (a significant new find)

Other sectors will be pedestrian by comparison.

There are risks of course. But the higher the risk the bigger the returns. Spread your money in a few of the big potentials, and if only one of them hits the jackpot you will be in money.

According to one of the slides in the presentation only 40 million shares (44% of the current share capital) are not subject to a lock-in period. Some new buyers would have sold, but generally speaking, some or all of the 40 million shares would have been exhausted already.

Any new buying pressure will push up the share price substantially because MMs will lack stock. Helium is the new fad, so if and when words spread about GEX's potential more investors will flock in.
