03/8/2017 09:51 | It's people who hang on the word of a single commentator who have themselves to blame. Anywhoo, I sold yesterday. Taq-Taq down another 1000 bopd in July, which just continues the trend. Soon it will either not be producing net cash or will be absorbing cash. I don't know what the limit of the water processing is. It is difficult to assign much value to it going forward. My interpretation of the half year report with respect to TT was more upbeat than reality - i.e. I had factored a much slower decline with light at the end of the tunnel. That knocks a big chunk off the free cash flow and puts a lot more emphasis on Tawke - so all the risk a single producing field brings. The chart is still strong so clearly there is good sentiment, I'd just rather lock in the quite decent profit I have, even if it means missing out on more. | hpcg
03/8/2017 09:51 | Interesting Malcy sees the oil as free on and the gas is the main asset.. personally I see it the other way round ( and pointed that out to him) so whether that has been lost in translation... | gregpeck7
03/8/2017 09:11 | Malcy has done himself no favours with some of his recent company comments. Glad he has been taken to task and given a more up beat factually based assessment of GENL. Compare to his ridiculous ultra ramping of HUR with unprofessional tweeting about ten bagging . Loads were sucked in and are now sitting on a paper loss of half their investment. Brent $51.95 | cyan
03/8/2017 09:11 | Ot like the look of winter and magical double today at goodwood for a bit of sporting fun! | gregpeck7
03/8/2017 08:15 | Off again chaps... My read on what is happening.. We have been out in the wilderness, and in that time some "new players" have taken very large stakes - they may still be taking stakes for all I know... That time is the past now though, and GENL's recent results have screamed " WE ARE MOTORING AGAIN" turnaround is in full swing and the overall picture all things considered looks rosy... I still think this is buy the oil (at a very cheap price) and get the gas free sums these up... And I think that is how the city are viewing things... Problem is - like our friends at DB - they have no shares as they have overlooked GENL, and we are now seeing a scramble to form positions... I see a short term move to 150 highly likely now.. 02/8/2017 23:28 | Guys, BTW I emailed Malcy about his article on Genel yesterday (I thought it was not upbeat enough) see the sundry section today.. I note he has made some additional Genel comment! I have to say that the extensive feedback from my piece on Genel yesterday indicated to me that although I thought I had been fairly positive I may have not given the company enough credit! I have been more positive lately as I genuinely feel that with the gas coming into the picture and the oil in for virtually nothing it is cheap once again despite some market concerns. So I will point out that the fcf of $78m was very good and which led to net debt reducing by a third was in addition to my positive points about Peshkabir, Miran and Bina Bawi. Whilst I am still concerned about Taq Taq it is worth noting that it still generated $32m. The good news is that it has led to me making not one but two meetings with the company so that I can get up to date! | gregpeck7

02/8/2017 20:13 | Yep Crude price looking very supportive. I prefer to use numis 'shirt term' target of 150p | gregpeck7
02/8/2017 19:55 | Brokers predictions are a waste of time. I see nothing but good numbers with GENL this week. Brent bounced back , now $52.35. All very good. | cyan

02/8/2017 19:24 | They are on the verge in bankruptcy themselves and lost a load on tullow... classic herd followers | gregpeck7
02/8/2017 19:23 | DB is the next Lehman Hawkey, they are apparently dead wrong on this one. | panagos
02/8/2017 19:17 | This is a serious question. Can anybody please explain how its possible for Deutsche who are supposedly a creditable firm to increase their price from 67p to 72p for Genel today and post a sell. I would really love to see the note to understand their logic. Thoughts please. Happy Hawkey | hawkey2
