If it's going to get to a £4 takeout , then they need to let it go a lot higher before they announce talks , usually a bid comes in around plus 60% of the price prior to news of talks.

Agreed Genel a far better Buy than Gkp. This could get very exciting as Genel shares are worth at least x4 more than current price imo

Sinopec entering Kurdistan clearly a game changer and will likely see a scramble for assets. Re-rating will follow quickly. Assets will stay at a discount to international peers due to politcal risk, but won't be the cirrent 90% discount.

If GENL valued at a 50% discount, shares re-rate to 400p.

If Sinopec bid for GKP, Genel will not be far behind to be taken out in the cheap.

The bottom line is that if the IOCs do not see a material improvement in payments from Jan 17 when the KRG are racking in over a billion a month this share is finished. But if they play ball and a significant effort is made to repay the IOCs which in turn allows them to increase output then it is a win win So no brainer, but then again this is the Middle East !!!! Logic sometimes does not apply but filling the pockets of the elite.Jan 17 exports presentation on the MNR website will be a very interesting one to say the least Normally $75m average to the IOCs so that's the benchmark.

Ps next payment will be based on oct POO price so we will not see the impact of POO over 50 until Feb.Unless of course !!!! With the extra cash monies they catch up because what ever you may think of the supply and demand off POO I think Brent over 50 is here to say though 2017 and 50-60 the new trading range.
