Better in S Africa. AGM next Tuesday likely to promise more big dividends to return cash to shareholders. |
Price unmoved |
Ruby auction 20% up on last sale in December and an unsold lot of low quality
will be sold next time.. Company very upbeat after recent strong emeralds sale.
More cash to add to a very strong cash position to be returned to shareholders.
PE of 3 20% dividend yield. BUY |
Yes last year`s exceptional auction raised $95.9m at $246.69 per carat.
I would be very happy with $85m which will be enough to sustain the huge 20% yield.

Mozambique ruby sells for record £28 m and coloured diamond for same price.
Really significant demonstration that buyers favour colour.
Very encouraging ahead of next week`s ruby auction |
I'm very happily sitting here waiting for the next dividend. Reduced my average down to 17p and there would of been a lot more sells today at 16p if that was an attractive price. This isn't a day trade share, it's a long term hold for loyal shareholders. |
16p bid for over 400k in Joburg.
Can`t remember who I had abet with but Gemfields are outperforming Greatland. |
Would be good if the big buyer was the Company buying back shares as approved by shareholders. So far thy have bought back only 1.7m out of the 50m authorised. |
Nice. Current buy 16.3p and sell 16p here though, so think they'll have a pay a bit more, especially if they want that many shares...Price looking strong towards ruby auction results in 2 weeks time as well. All bodes well. |
Buyer in South Africa bidding 15.8p for 700,000 shares. |

Liberum daily comment today
Gemfields* (BUY, TP 27p) – Records breaking again (9 pgs) Gemfields is bucking numerous headwinds in the macroeconomic environment, setting a new record for high-quality emeralds in a sold-out auction of $43.7m, up 41% from the previous tender, +25% versus Liberum estimate of $35m. We had expected that rising interest rates would dampen demand, but the auction had both the highest number of companies placing bids and overall bids placed, thus bringing in rising competitive tension in the space. This bodes well for the ruby auction result later in the month. |
Yes saracen! I do wonder about some of the PI's on these boards, they would be better off investing in fixed rate bonds... Rand is strengthening todsy vz GBP |
