My observation
Share buybacks rarely work and never work where the problem is the management and governance. It's like spending the shareholders money to try and cover up their mess. Lots of companies waste our shareholders cash as you rightly point out GEMD is a classic case in point.

Surely time for GEMD to resume buying back shares imo...they were buying back this time last year at circa 70p....at this share price surely a no brainer to get the share price back up again with operational results looking positive??!!

The metrics all looked good, although the $ per carat could do with going up a bit but that's also governed by the recovery of 100 carat plus stones. No commentary though from the company re cash position or diamond market comment, they usually do? Happy with the operational update though. Pretty positive :-)

All the diamond miners SPs are at similar covid lows, look at PDL and LUC. It's not just GEMD.

Not particularly happy as they get them yearly, regardless of company results or share price performance. Needs some sort of clause in it to reward actual performance.

China's GDP rebounds greater than expectations, up 4.5% (vs 4% est) in Q1 and grows at fastest pace in a year. March Retail sales with a big beat at 10.6% vs 7.5% est.All positive re diamond sales and prices going forward ;-)

Wonder if the likes of Burgundy will come sniffing at GEMDs door at the current market cap? They are still looking for further acquisitions and GEMD would be a good fit..
