Telegraph article says dividends or share buy-backs later this year. Also says they have found their 10th 100+ carat diamond this year. Latest one is 102 carat - not yet announced by company (but possibly mentioned at the AGM - I wasn't there)

lets just hope it is one of the big mining companies starting to sniff around
mine is cash generating and can easily afford a generous dividend to share holders
previous acquisitions proved to be a waste of money and management time so lets hope this gets taken over before they do something stupid with the cash

The balance sheet here is so much better than over at petra. They will still have c$450m of debt even after the raise. I just take the view why invest in companies with debt of more than 1x ebitda or db pensions.

Given the rest of the markets are down it is pretty positive that these are flat/up a little today bodes well

Yes they need to bank the cash and pay dividends. This does look like a the makings of a very good year. I think the first half could be revenue of $160m with record ebitda.

or building an uneconomic mine and then sell it......although that is what they excel at

As long as they don't waste the cash on some stupid acquisition

I'm just having another look at the last presentation and highest annual number of >100 carat diamonds was 11 in 2015. So far in 2018 they have 9 in less than 5 months so we could be taking 21 or 22 if they keep going at this rate. Also no net debt and dollar strengthening.

based on the last white diamond they sold
I wonder whether it is worth as it is larger
don't know anything about the diamond market other than it is controlled by DE Beers
if these sorts of finds keep coming through every quarter then cashflow will be good
as cash builds then it will be easy for the company to pay a good sustainable dividend
with these larger finds on a fairly regular basis then would suspect than someone will be doing some calculations on the basis of nett cash inflow and on the long mining licence
at the moment it appears to be fairly low valuation based really on the last 4 q's but not on the improving mining and financial position
2Q and half year results should make pleasant reading

I'd prefer to be in here than Petra because they've got large amounts of debt. In terms of GEMD they have already smashed H1 revenue last year in the first quarter of 2018 ($106m of revenue) so I see big upside. You never know they could do close to the entire market cap in ebitda this year!

I did wonder where the $6m came from. You never really know but $6M sounds good :)

Amazing how sentiment changes with these.

Starting to wish I had bought a few more :)

there was an article out a few days ago by a de beers guy saying diamond prices were doing very well highest in a few years.

I've also got a load of petra who are seemingly also back in an uptrend
