Bid coming |
Appears to be a good buying opportunity as todays gains so far have taken out the losses from yesterday. |
JEFFERIES RAISES GB GROUP PRICE TARGET TO 395 (370) PENCE - 'BUY'
Makes the share price action yesterday difficult to understand. Buying opportunity? |
Thanks Melody. I will watch the pressentation today. |
BARCLAYS RAISES GB GROUP PRICE TARGET TO 350 (300) PENCE - 'OVERWEIGHT' |
Hot - my thought was that an institution that attended the results presentation did not hear what they wanted and placed a sell order into the market to reduce their holding.
I thought Dev and David did a good job - they did duck the direct question on getting growth into double digits....on the basis Dev had only been in post 4 months. Thats OK AFAIAC...better to underpromise and overdeliver. And seems to be a number of initiatives they are taking. |
Think many thought even if it took a while that todays news was already more than priced in to the share price and now it could conceivably test the 300p again Its still a long way back for GBG despite recent progress and always that carrot of a bid so unlikely to fall too far south |
Why the share price ended up down over 4% today after heading north in the morning is a mystery to me. |
Indeed and a positive outlook statement :
FY25 outlook reiterated
· The new financial year has begun in-line with our expectations, with improved momentum in Identity and Location continuing from the final quarter of FY24
· For the year as a whole, we expect mid-single-digit revenue growth on a constant currency basis, which will drive high single-digit growth in adjusted operating profit given the operational efficiency gains achieved in FY24
It looks like there will be no further goodwill writedowns regarding Acuant so in FY25 the operating loss will become a profit.Net debt is also reducing well now. |
In line. Div up 5%. |
FY24 results this Tuesday. I am hoping for a modest increase in the dividend and a very positive outlook statement.
If a bid came in i think it would have to be over £7 for GBG to consider it. They know the current share price is vastly undervalued. |
still holding, hoping bid will come. |
It appears 355 or so is sticking point, need some good news here. |
Yup, sure did.I expect we will see PE interest re-emerge at some point. |
Course you did.
A sharp but discrete step up which looks to me like someone has decided to take a small position, rather than punters piling in on rumour. Welcome though, nearly half way back to par.
(edit - this may even have been caused by the employee benefit scheme buying own shares) |
Glad I topped up a few days ago. |
This is a good rise especially on my old holdings, I recall a 60p to 80p rise once.... Still this is a whooooosh |
Anything behind today's near vertical takeoff? |
I started added back around the 2.60 mark a bit too early but.... Getting there still got some of my 15 years ago buys so still up... just hope they don't start to acquire pricey stuff |
Thanks Cambium, do you have a link to that note?
Last note i found was - Liberum: GB Group in a more stable position GB Group (GBG) is vulnerable to an approach, but Liberum says investors should buy the identify verification and fraud prevention company for the rerating.
Analyst Andrew Ripper retained his ‘buy’ recommendation and target price of 415p on the stock, which climbed 17% to 302p on Tuesday after the year-end trading update confirmed the company had ‘stabilised after the dilutive acquisition of Acuant and two years of earnings per share downgrades’.
‘Trading and guidance support our view that organic growth should accelerate in full-year 2025 to 5%, cashflow is strong and we have raised our full-year 2025 profit estimates by 1.5%,’ said Ripper.
The Entrust approach for GB Group’s peer Onfido at five times sales is almost twice the multiple of GB Group’s and ‘highlights the value [in the latter] and is the first indication of a return to corporate activity in a sector where GB Group still looks vulnerable to an approach’. |
