It's 'mad Friday' in two days, which will be massive super spreader events at multiple locations in every town in the UK. One week later, pretty much the perfect incubation time, most of the country will spend a couple of days with their families.
Peak Covid will be mid January and that's when we're most likely to be asked to 'save the NHS'.
Also don't discount risk of further variants - strangely they always seem to be discovered in UK and SA. I suspect there are others out there but vast majority of countries hardly do any tests.

Thanks Space B, given that I'm expecting the fear machine to start ramping up in Jan. Made me consider hopping out of this one for the time being. I believe its simply forward looking to the potential of lockdown

If you look at the history of RNS's this is not a company that issues any RNS's outside of expected updates. Not even when it went to 50p. Next RNS will be the trading update in early Feb

IG - CFD won't allow me to make a trade in this at the moment. Not sure if that means anything.

Interesting start to the day.

All the company has to do to stop this hysteria, is put out a rns stating that nothing has changed since the 4th November results and barring a full national lockdown trading continues inline with current expectations.

Suggest an email to investor relations - cosec@gattacaplc.com

As a duty of care to investors... should the board not be putting out an RNS ?

In the very short term the market could just as easily see this Plan B as a good step to avoiding another lockdown. However I personally believe that come Jan, every winter death will go down as “with omicron” and we will see another lockdown. A
Very Sad day for the UK, we are essentially leaderless now

I've changed my opinion because the government has caved which I didn't expect. This was an opportunity for them to say we need to live with it, same as they faced down the doomsters earlier in the year which proved to be the right thing to do. Looking at the news, 1/3 of Conservative MP's also disagree with the government approach and they will have been under a lot of pressure.
I agree with everything you say regarding covid and it's what I said earlier, but statistically if a variant is very widespread, large numbers of people will die within 28 days of getting it - and yet it will have little to do with Covid. But that will be ammunition for the lockdown fanatics and it's clear for all to see that the government has no backbone.
Btw I'm still heavily invested here via my SIPP but yes I've reduced my holdings in my ISA as the current Covid situation as played out. Nothing to do with 'trying to get a low entry point' - this BS is affecting the whole market.

Im sorry bob but youve lost all cred with me. When you was seriously invested here you were playing down the covid situation. Now that you have sold the majority of your holding its all doom and gloom to try and get a low entry point. Have a bit of respect. On the subject of covid and as weve previously discussed the stages of mutation of a coronavirus make it more contagious but less deadly so whilst the number of recorded cases go up the deaths are unlikely to

Doesn't matter if it's mild (which I personally think it is). We'll have massive number of cases due to level of testing and also self reporting incentive to get out of work. Then due to our ridiculous 'died with, within 28 days' recording of deaths, the death chart will also look dramatic. Then the consitently wrong modellers, will exproploate a graph from that saying that we're all going to die within a month. Hospitals will warn that they'll have to cull babies. Unions and opposition will call Johnson a murderer - and then lockdown 'just in case', 'flatten the curve', etc.

It's the risk of lockdown which is the problem, not Gattaca. Many schools are seeing absentee rates of 1/3 and closing early for xmas. Similar situation in hospitals. The press will be spamming stories about rocketing infection rates. Hospitals will be reporting they're at breaking point and turning away patients (same as every winter). Unions will be telling their members not to work. Government will be under pressure to do something. I can see us having another full lockdown in January even if the hospital and death rates do not warrant it. Markets will be wrecked once again and this could even go as low as 80p at the height of the hysteria.

Taken on 10k more as a cfd at 120p.

Either there is a lurking gremlin, which I dont see, or its overhyped pandemic fear, coupled with some manipulation.

Seems a good bet to me if they have any where near the £20m cash highlighted in the 4th November results, and these guys should be busy.

Edit, could always be a 120p funding to buy something, seems to be driven down to these levels.

Time will tell

Scientific fact is that existing vaccines that we were urged to take are totally ineffective for 95% of people when double jabbed and yet they're urging us to have a third despite having no data yet on whether or not it will have any effect. Before you know it they'll be expecting us to have experimental jabs every couple of months for what is now basically a cold, using the constant argument that 'just one more jab will hopefully work'. I'm not an anti-vaccer but at some point you've got to draw a line.

Good news on the unemployment rate today "The unemployment rate in today's figures dropped to 4.2%, which is just above the pre-pandemic level but still low by historical standards"
