07/11/2017 15:14 | Very low volume has magnified effect on a weak share that has been undervalued for a long time. Remember when an II got out a year ago? Rot needs to be stopped anyway. Either good results ( with +ive ebitda & improved cash situation ) or substantial director buys or an II coming on board & going over 3%. OR ALL THREE OF THE ABOVE! | napoleon 14th
07/11/2017 15:10 | They haven't bothered doing that in the past corrientes, or not that I can remember. Last time it displayed this sort of behaviour we were able to add at 116p which was a bit gut wrenching at the time, for me at least, but proved the right thing to do. I don't think it will go down there again but I'm still not adding. Management could do with some PR nous, it's not enough to be good at your job, with a listed company they have shareholders to consider too, lots of companies are getting better at it and using media effectively to make sure their shareholders understand what's going on but this lot seem to have almost contempt for holders, pi's anyway. It's annoying. | paleje
07/11/2017 15:05 | someone sold 100,000 shares today, that's why we have a 8.5% fall today. surely a correction has to be on the cards, surely a director moving on, isnt worth a 25% fall? | igoe104
07/11/2017 13:07 | Anybody else have an opinion ? Bad news or just accentuated movements in a highly sensitive share ? Is an RNS likely on the lines of 'we know of no basis for the recent weakness in the share price',given the 25% drop. | corrientes
07/11/2017 10:39 | Someone somewhere doesn't like GAMA | watsonnimrod
03/11/2017 16:49 | A year or so ago, I phoned the company and managed to speak to the CEO. He accepted that the company had not been very communicative, acknowledging that for the layperson, making sense of the accounts was difficult. Maybe this is a deliberate attempt to be opaque due to commercial sensitivity in the build up to becoming a bigger beast. | corrientes
03/11/2017 16:37 | I expect a satisfactory conclusion for gama regarding the court case next June. Surely if he thinks he's owed £6.1 million, he would have made the claimed well in advance, before putting in the counter sue, he`s probably hoping Gama will come up with agreement before they go to court to avoid the p/r and drop the case ? That's my take on the situation, looking on in from the outside. | igoe104
03/11/2017 16:30 | Difficult stock this one, they only have to sneeze and wobbles start. Management partly to blame, secretive and uncommunicative well that's been my experience of them. I don't think there's anything sinister in the FD moving on and with a decent notice period but with scant info about where he's going other than private sector so mind our own business, peeps will put 2 and 2, especially after the very long downward path the share price took a while back when management simply would not engage with investors to allay concerns. I'd be tempted to add if it goes much lower but then it's pretty illiquid and that's an offput in a market bubbling in other areas, better places to park cash. | paleje
03/11/2017 16:17 | Somebody in a London newspaper doesn't like GMAA, making a big thing about the resignation, and not for the first time a negative piece of news has been published about the company. You do wonder, though, if the reporter has friends who'll try and influence proceedings. | corrientes
03/11/2017 15:55 | two transactions, which were (sells) totalling 165k has done damage to the share price today. | igoe104
03/11/2017 15:35 | Eh? I sell when I need to and hold on occasions like this when I don't believe there's an issue. It's very simple. As a recent example, I held IQE for ages as one of the very few optimists on that company, until the market caught on and made it a multibagger. | rivaldo
03/11/2017 15:13 | This isn't funny Mr Super Optimist (Rivaldo)but I see you do this with other companies too. | corrientes
03/11/2017 13:55 | Regarding the acquisition, I get the impression Gama are looking at the bigger picture. The new compliance requirements in Saudi, sounds interesting. that there are significant growth opportunities in the Middle East generally. In particular, new compliance requirements in Saudi Arabia and the development of the Business Aviation Centre in Sharjah, UAE, present attractive aircraft management opportunities. | igoe104
03/11/2017 13:38 | This share is a jinx for me 🙄 I sold out this morning for the 3rd time, I was already slightly nonplussed by what looked a slightly incestuous acq a few weeks ago at what looked a v full price. As a matter of course ,when an FD leaves I always review, if it’s amicable then usually there’s time for a named stand in or permanent successor to be approached and duly encompassed in the same RNS, this wasn’t a bad leaver RNS but it showed a degree of haste imo ..that was enough to unsettle my fragile nature🙂 it took a while but my broker got me out at an average of just over £2.20. I’m not happy as my intent is always to be a long term holder and this looks startlingly cheap given it’s market position and growth prospects, on this occasion I let my heart rule my head...sorry for trashing the share price. Good luck to you all | rhomboid
03/11/2017 12:47 | The market is never impressed when a CFO leaves without any real explanation, and this is what the share price is saying. At least he's not leaving immediately, which is a plus. This plethora of good news and yet no sign of the share price moving up, for nearly a year now. Maybe next year's court case has something to do with this haitus, but the whole thing is really puzzling, putting it politely. | corrientes
03/11/2017 12:47 | LOL Arthurly! Completely OT, I just bought a bargain 2CD version of the Consequences triple-LP concept album Godley & Crème did with Peter Cook and Sarah Vaughan. They don't make them like that any more....... | rivaldo
03/11/2017 12:30 | Is Kevin rejoining 10cc ? | arthurly
03/11/2017 10:15 | Totally ridiculous fall, pure paranoia. All because someone wants to move on. | igoe104
03/11/2017 10:11 | 10.08 my buy showing as a sell | 3500sr
03/11/2017 09:44 | I agree with rivaldo, & GMAA look cheap, & cheaper still today, but then they have done since I bought them 15 months ago..... What will change that other than a bid? Fighting the market won't help! | napoleon 14th
03/11/2017 09:05 | No spin, just my opinion. As an ex-FD, 5 years is more than enough for a CFO or FD in one job so it's perfectly reasonable to expect him to move on (and there may also be personal reasons for the move). Cynicism isn't necessarily the appropriate response to everything. | rivaldo
03/11/2017 08:08 | well, that's putting a nice spin on it ! | corrientes
03/11/2017 07:28 | Best wishes to the CFO on his leaving after 5 years - he was helpful and open in my experience. It all sounds very amicable, especially given that he's staying for another 3 months, which will mean he can oversee the year end and enable a smooth transition. | rivaldo
02/11/2017 07:19 | Downing's new Micro-Cap investment trust reported their first ever interims this morning - GMAA are their 4th largest investment, and they had this to say: "Gama Aviation PLC ('Gama') Gama is a leading global business aviation service provider. Management has grown the business from one aircraft under management to over 250 aircraft, both organically and through selective acquisitions over 34 years. The attraction to Gama's operational model is the high degree of visibility of gross profits - over 70% are contracted - and we believe that a further 20% could be deemed recurring where owners have used Gama's services for many years. Under normal conditions, the business is light on capex and working capital, which facilitates the conversion of profits to cash. Overlaying these attractive attributes are regulatory pressures which are crowding out smaller fleet operators who cannot afford to comply with increasingly stringent requirements from regional aviation authorities. This highly fragmented market is, we believe, therefore ripe for consolidation by the larger players, of which Gama is one of the top five by fleet size. We were also drawn to the highly-aligned management team who own over 30% of the equity." | rivaldo
30/10/2017 15:09 | ...and a £432,000 buy at 232.5p today, followed by a tick up. | rivaldo |
