'What advantage is a rising gold price going to be for the mining company?'

Are you totally stupid or something?

Question.....
So the smelters are making no money apparently, and Galantas are getting paid 95% of the previous months gold price for their ore concentrate.... What advantage is a rising gold price going to be for the mining company? Surely it's the smelter that's going to benefit from this only if his overheads are fixed? The drop in lead isn't really making any notable difference... Does this sound like a bad deal?

Some food for thought on Dalradian's new proposal, or 'Cavanacaw 2.0' as the locals are now calling it.

Half yearly results due in a fortnight. Gold price climbing, may be the turning point to see some share price action.

Given that the report was published over 5 years ago -- it must be regarded as being almost totally irrelevant.

Projections and Capex :

Since they are not releasing any projections on when they will have sufficient production to be profitable - it is likely that this is more than 2 years away.

Thus, since it seems very unlikely that they have enough cash to cover all their outgoings for the next 2 years -- a couple of additional placings is more likely than not.

Too little detail with todays announcement -

recently identified optimisation initiatives at the Omagh gold mine, including

increased mechanisation and
improved underground infrastructure,

as well as for general working capital of the Company.

What is the proposed mechanisation (capex and opex impact & production rate impact)
what improved ug infra?

how much reserved for working capital?

The Pogo presentaton is worth a read for a good overview of how costs vary in an underground mine specifically:
Development vs Stoping costs
new vs old equipment

hxxp://www.nsrltd.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/07/Pogo-Operational-Update-June-Quarter-30-07-2019.pdf

This reinforces the importance, per recent GAL announcements, about having more operational levels available.

As I said the MMs are very twitchy, a 10k purchase moves the offer to 5.3p! About to take off IMHO....

Well the cheaper offer has now gone. I was just quoted 5.097 to buy 20000 shares....

Another £5k buy this morning and the bid edges up again. It really would not take much to get this going. The MMs are very twitchy....

Dalradian was taken private WITHOUT A MINE IN PLACE @ CAD 537m i.e. at 25 times GAL's current valuation .

This is easily a 5 bagger at least.

Nuff said.

The price continues to edge up as a few buyers come out of the woodwork. There is definitely value here as production is ramped up and very good gold grades are confirmed. Plus the gold price continues to go up and the pound goes down. A perfect storm for GAL!

we have to admit that the investor community does not believe the GAL story.

-------------

There is no story.

How can they make an investment decision -- the information provided gives no clues on:

Costs,
Production,
timescales,
profits.

Anyone that is not an insider - is investing completely blind here.

The trouble is the mood in canada seems to be in other areas. Once financials start to show this should help, don't think there is much more the company can do except deliver and give updates as they are.

Although the following RNS might help
above our operating gold mine we own significant freehold land on which weed(s) are growing.

Get the news wires to pick up the word weed and it would probably double for no good reason! Rehabilitating with native plants and on site peat probably wouldn't have the same impact on price!

I really don't understand why not. There is lots of gold in the ground and they are getting it out of the mine and producing concentrate at an increasing rate....
