I think its quiet here because we are having a healthy period of consolidation after such a rise. I don't see a big read across from Informa personally. IMO US advertising is the key driver now for the next leg up, maybe we have a quiet summer ahead. Clearly we are no longer on a no brainer rating but we remain cheap. |
anyone expecting any read over to us from these results - everything so quiet here these days and interest very low it seems...
nai etc |
There is the gap from results day at approx 880 to 950. Someone might want to close that? |
3 month chart looks like a consolidation around 10 - anyone better at charts any thoughts if they might want to keep it there or head lower still... |
This gets affected by ftse down days so until that is looking more positive this might consolidate |
Otherwise yes you may see a bit of sideways for a bit |
I think if we see an interest rate cute in July that’ll get small caps moving. I think probably September is priced in but not July |
Has Future run out of steam? Can the latest TU underpin further share price appreciation or we must wait for the next trading update for another run up? |
Up 60% in a month 💪
Apparently according to a militant ‘investor̵7; this cant be done . Many examples of where this has just happened with small caps since we tiptoed into Q2
Im looking for the next ones 💥 |
No idea but heresay is that Qube don't take single direction bets so could be short to offset some sort of call option elsewhere. The timing of the holdings and increase/decrease in short position seems strangely close although could be coincidence and purely related to the price action.

Why would they short tho? |

Seems logical to think that Blackrock's holdings and Qube's short disclosures are related. |
Sudden drop here around the time the latest short disclosures came out with Qube upping their's by 0.1% (yesterday) |
I closed long at 1066.
WD to you that stuck with it! |

![](/p.php?pid=profilepic&user=tole) A bit more detail off Citywire https://citywire.com/funds-insider/news/expert-view-whitbread-future-british-american-tobacco-chemring-carnival/Berenberg upgrades FutureBerenberg has upgraded media group Future (FUTR) as the 'overhangs' it faces are 'clearing up'.Analyst William Larwood upgraded his recommendation from 'hold' to 'buy' and increased the target price from 850p to £13.10 on the Citywire Elite Companies + rated media company, owner of Marie Claire and a number of more specialist titles, which gained 1.3% to £11.14 yesterday.Positive first-half results indicated that 'its organic growth has troughed' and Larwood noted the 'positive commentary from its US peers regarding first quarter advertising trends, Google's decision to delay third-party cookie deprecation, and evidence that artificial intelligence (AI)-enabled search will likely benefit market leaders.''With improved clarity on these perceived overhangs, we remove our discount to our fair value estimate and our price target increases to £13.10,' said Larwood.'The shares trade on a full-year 2024 price to earnings of 9 times, which we think is attractive given that we could be at the start of an upgrade cycle and bearing in mind chief executive Jon Steinberg's comments regarding portfolio optimisation.' |

Not sure why the exit here. Debt being repaid at a rapid rate of knots. Share price consolidating after the sharp rise, but prospective PER still less than 10. Many investors think they have missed the boat, but recent bounce has only retraced an oversold position. Famous last words, but hold for next leg up IMHO.
WEALTH WARNING: Many investors don't have the mental disposition to handle share price volatility, so beware if you can't handle the risk. |

Strengths
The company's EBITDA/Sales ratio is relatively high and results in high margins before depreciation, amortization and taxes. The company's share price in relation to its net book value makes it look relatively cheap. Given the positive cash flows generated by its business, the company's valuation level is an asset. Analysts covering this company mostly recommend stock overweighting or purchase. The difference between current prices and the average target price is rather important and implies a significant appreciation potential for the stock. The group usually releases upbeat results with huge surprise rates.
Weaknesses
As estimated by analysts, this group is among those businesses with the lowest growth prospects. The potential for earnings per share (EPS) growth in the coming years appears limited according to current analyst estimates. The firm pays small or no dividend to shareholders. For that reason, it is not a yield company. For the last 12 months, analysts have been regularly downgrading their EPS expectations. Analysts predict worse results for the company against their predictions a year ago. Over the past twelve months, analysts' opinions have been revised negatively. The price targets of analysts who cover the stock differ significantly. This implies difficulties in evaluating the company and its business. |
