23/12/2010 12:48 | Hi all, wrt OCDO Here's a question, who decides which non-financial companies can be shorted and which can't and why? Given the market cap of OCDO @ £923m, why is it restricted by so many platforms from being shorted? Surely GS connections and powers, can't run that far and wide. Does anyone else know of any other UK companies of a similar size that has such protection? c2i | ![]() contrarian2investor

28/10/2010 16:23 | Write rules for yourself Andy, don't sit there sweating because it's not going as planned. Rule 1) be prepared to take a loss...Rule 2) don't phone me to cry lol A lesson I learnt to my benefit is auto trades do work, with longs opening at 1.57, 1.58, 1.59 but it's having confidence and margin, my most successful trade this year! :-) Always play what's in your favour! Hope you're well and getting lashed now the weekend has arrived! TC Fraser | fjp73
27/10/2010 08:31 | Bones, just a quick one. Look into CHL (Churchill Mining) my estimation is news from Credit Suisse cannot be far off. Catch you when I'm back to market lol. TC Fraser | fjp73
22/10/2010 10:17 | abudhabi: as long as it didn't have half a salad in it I'm sure it was decent. No RUR as yet. | ![]() bones30
22/10/2010 10:10 | Cheers bones. I dont get question time out here but I did get trollied on gin last night. Not the posh stuff FJ drinks just the stuff guests have kindly left behind. Are you in RUR? | abudhabitrader
22/10/2010 10:00 | I think there's a lot of chartists playing banks. My chartist friend - who from what I can tell pretty much ignores the news, fundamentals etc, and just uses TA has made a good few quid scalping profits. Either he's lucky... or? Did you watch Question Time last night? The part about wanting to tax the banks just enough, because if they tax them too much the business will just go elsewhere. I think this could be evidence of a realisation amongst politicians that they can't control them, its a one-way channel of support IMO. | ![]() bones30
22/10/2010 09:53 | Morning Fraser, well you dont half have a lasting impression on people hahaha. Anyway just a quick question when do you see any value in the UK banks? Got to be good long term but is there another 12 months of stagnation?? They all seem to have tightened the belts and got the house in order and most of the write downs out of the way but who knows. I know RBS qtr 3 results are out 5th November. Anyway just would like an opinion. Enjoy dogging with freeshare this weekend haha | abudhabitrader

21/10/2010 21:10 | Trade in and out on VGM? I think there's plenty to go, in old money I envisage 10 pence...overtime. | fjp73
21/10/2010 20:55 | What's your target there or do you trade in and out? | ![]() bones30
21/10/2010 20:52 | Well the 10% up today should make up for that. We do appear to have a few holdings in common. Best of luck with it all... Personally prefer if VGM doesn't rise too much before the secondary listing (if it happens). I'd bed-and-ISA them in a flash, and perhaps add more while I was at it. | ![]() bones30
21/10/2010 20:48 | I did read VGM, most pleased for all us VGM holders. However so far there's not one consolidation that hasn't dipped 10% minimum on consolidatin day! :-) | fjp73
21/10/2010 20:13 | Correct bit illiquid ,My thoughts on RUR are maximum investment by Sterling without having to make an offer ,thats what im hoping for as i believe we as existing shareholders would still have a right to expected dividend at time of a formal offer re "cum divedend" takeover rules havent been caught up in one yet so no fully versed and could be mis reading it ? 21/10/2010 20:00 | Bones, evening, I've been a holder of AFR for quite awhile, every oiler profit in a minor I transfer into AFR for the longer term. Sold some today merely to derisk and move about. (Average 84 pence) Re: STI, I my average is exceptional, at £1.03 pence. You're going to double check that now aren't you? lmao..>Yes My average on STI (Stratex) is One Pound and Three Pence Only....I bought 4 shares by accident once ages back....cannot do that now as I don't trade enough to get nil/£1.50 trading costs. My day? Exceptional, big change coming up, lesser time for the markets still but all the same very good for me! Hope your's was good! TC F | fjp73
21/10/2010 19:35 | > I don't see how the shares being returned will impact on AFR Depends if those they are returned to decide to turn them into money I presume. Are you a holder? | ![]() bones30 |
