28/2/2019 17:24 | I hope the theme music isn't... "Blackbird singing in the dead of night"! | horneblower
28/2/2019 17:10 | I’ve worked in the the exhibition and conference industry for the last 15 years, I’m at excel now but working on another show. Depending on how the presentations are run you do get seat hoggers. Either way I hope the presentation was well received but whether that translates into sales and cash in the bank is another matter | sickness
28/2/2019 17:07 | Curious, why didn't you go? | mcsean2164
28/2/2019 17:01 | Kind of wish I had gone to BVE now | nickb
28/2/2019 16:58 | Sickness I didn’t go this year but normally it’s seating event by event, so good to see it we’ll attended plus it is a commitment to attend these individual presentations as there are many other things to see so unlikely to be people just looking for a chair to rest on! | nickb
28/2/2019 16:40 | Was Jai Cave there? BRING BACK VIC STEEL! | geheimnis2
28/2/2019 16:28 | Were they there for the blackbird presentation or making sure they had a good seat for the next one. 😆 | sickness
28/2/2019 16:16 | Well attended Blackbird presentation at BVE Today 😀 | nickb
28/2/2019 16:07 | They have been remunerated for their work. All from shareholder funds, as they have minimal sales. The company isn't a charity - just like my work isn't. | bonio10000
28/2/2019 15:52 | It's a defense mechanism, sweep all negativity under the carpet as their simply isn't enough positive news (except tech perhaps) to counteract it. GLA | paulcon1
28/2/2019 15:43 | They really don't understand that today virtually nothing they do can get away unobserved. It's difficult to understand and more seriously it erodes confidence because it makes them look underhand and tricky. A simple statement saying the products had been superceded would do the job. But FBT clearly have an ongoing mindset that does not include transparency, a mindset that is very much out of step with best practice today if only because it's virtually impossible to keep matters secret (the only exception I can think of is Robert Mueller and I take my hat off to him as a man who can run a very tight ship but he's the exception to the rule). | chriscallen
28/2/2019 15:23 | Clesh gone too. | mcsean2164
28/2/2019 15:22 | hxxp://www.onlinevid Doesn't have https, try logging in and asks if you want to go back to safety. I really hope there is an endgame buyout on the cards as these guys cannot run a business. | mcsean2164
28/2/2019 15:19 | Our app eva has been removed: | mcsean2164
28/2/2019 13:36 | Hope Ian had a good presentation at BVE today | nickb
28/2/2019 13:31 | That said the obvious old traditional Pro market is a fraction of a massive opportunity in a Video centric world of social media, gaming and enterprise corporate video of which the traditional video editor solutions were not designed for. Our Video player working alongside our other products can become huge in their own right. Interesting times but confusing also IMHO | nickb
28/2/2019 13:24 | Everyone agrees that Cloud is the future but our competitors have stepped up their own vision and solutions that so far have not benefited us. No license with a major Editing brand for instance. So without inside knowledge of any top secret ongoing negotiations that maybe game changers we are in danger of falling behind in the Pro market however Ian paints an upbeat picture but that’s his job! | nickb
28/2/2019 13:18 | Is the current software offering (Blackbird?) actually as good as what professional video editors are using currently? It's professional grade is perhaps the best way to describe. After all, it is used by professionals for broadcast. However it doesn't, by design, replicate every feature of the heavyweight desktop video editors (it doesn't try to rather than it cannot). I heard a stat quoted one time that goes something like 90% of all material created uses only a core set of editing capabilities and that was I believe a design goal for Blackbird to keep it lightweight and cap the complexity (thereby making it accessible to a broader skill base of people). The Blackbird player works perfectly on a smartphone (java script) which can do clipping, so expect more could be done with the same tech. I don't know what the current offering is in terms of native apps. BTW I also heard 73.6% of all statistics are made up :-) | _m_k
28/2/2019 13:16 | ‘Is the current software offering (Blackbird?) actually as good as what professional video editors are using currently?’ Hornblower NO AVID Media Composer rules the Pro Editing world and it’s a religion. However Blackbird could be complementary but not a replacement. | nickb
28/2/2019 13:09 | Chris How can Sales people close a major deal when the customers are highly sophisticated? These type of customers won’t jump to the sales team. Could it be Blackbird isn’t what they need and will go with other solutions? Or it’s timing? It’s certainly very concerning as to why no significant deals are being closed now. But I don’t blame the sales team | nickb
28/2/2019 13:01 | Is the current software offering (Blackbird?) actually as good as what professional video editors are using currently? If it works seamlessly in the cloud, has as many features as the top competition and is as easy to use then you'd think there was a market for it...but what is the market? My feeling is that the video functionality of top-end smart phones is now so good that a good video editing package should be bundled free with each phone so as to differentiate the good with the best. So, if the best, edited video can be simply achieved on, say, a Samsung S10 rather than an iPhone 10 because it has Blackbird bundled free, then many people will demand the S10 over the iPhone 10 (or vice versa). But is Blackbird that good??? | horneblower
28/2/2019 12:16 | So we have once again an expensive team actually selling nothing commensurate with the cost. That sums up the issue. IM has not lived up to the the hype. He has changed the brand, invested some money and visited the US. That's it but who next? If there is value in the codec, they should sell it and wind up the company. There might still be a payday... I'm not sure what if anything we can do as shareholders. | mcsean2164 |
