30/1/2019 09:41 | Today's Tweet from FBT: #Shipwrecked is back! Filmed in the Cook Islands, the production team uses Blackbird on Macs to rapidly ingest video footage into the cloud for colleagues in the UK to view, edit and enrich. Another example of Blackbird's agility & power. #cloudeditor | chriscallen
30/1/2019 09:14 | Run by chancers - IM aside. At least in April Lees is gone and someone with some proper chops is coming in. Main is a disgrace in the company of IM and the new guy - and don't even start me on the NEDs. | bonio10000
30/1/2019 09:12 | The fact the CEO felt the need to mention the POC at all bothers me. Also, once again, the ambiguity that surrounds this comment is unhelpful. The POC maybe 'financially huge' or 'financially miniscule' (you take you're pick!) and there may or not be a contract arising from it and, if a contract is won, you may hear about it in a week or in a year! After 19 years and with a very serious technological product, FBT should be way beyond this kind of rhetoric. GL and IMHO | paulcon1
30/1/2019 00:10 | I would add that the more ambitious PoC’s will have a longer lead time to a contract I would expect I would not expect a contract to be signed the day after a POC completed! However what is said in feedback could boost managements confidence but many shareholders here don’t value that. | nickb
30/1/2019 00:01 | I am involved with a PoC trial in a local hospital. Fbt have a fully developed product, why it's even called a PoC trial is beyond. If the PoC I am working on does not lead to a contract, that would not be regarded as a success... | mcsean2164
29/1/2019 22:24 | A successful POC outcome does as cabi1 says not necessarily lead to a contract. An RNS will only be mandatory if the turnover created by a new contract exceeds 10% of existing turnover otherwise it would porobably be an RNS Reach if it is significant but not material. | chriscallen
29/1/2019 22:10 | McSean. Just because POC has been successful doesn’t mean a deal is struck straight away. In this article we looked at what a proof of concept is and why it is important when assessing new technologies. We also highlighted that the scope and requirements of a PoC are important because a it is not a fully-fledged project but just a small piece of work to prove the concept or idea. The creation of key success metrics, which varies based on the project, provides the ability to assess the success or failure of it in order to determine next steps. Assuming a successful outcome, the next steps are to start formal project initiation and identify the scope and requirements in its entirety. | cabi1
29/1/2019 21:49 | Cabi It’s an interesting sounding POC with a major US Network! Depending on who it is and the SCOPE of the deal it should add 10p never mind get to 10p All in the details of course! | nickb
29/1/2019 21:03 | If it came to an end and was a success, that means that the contract does not require an RNS. | mcsean2164
29/1/2019 19:30 | We are still waiting for news regards live POC with a major U.S network. This could be the RNS that gets share price back up through 10p. IM did say it had come to an end, and had been a success. | cabi1
29/1/2019 17:12 | Chris It will Always be slower with existing media technology players to adopt our technology. Workflows can be very complex and business critical and have had years of mindset investment made. Much easier with a new business. Traditional media business are moving production to the Cloud though and we now have Microsoft Media sales vertical alongside our sales. | nickb
29/1/2019 16:12 | NickB I'm not disagreeing with you on this news which I think is good because it is showing how adaptable Blackbird is. But what I do think it signals is that with existing tech users the process of conversion is a lot slower than anticipated. | chriscallen
29/1/2019 14:26 | The size and scope of the company is the impressive thing, together with the deal with Colgate. They had over £6m in cash at 30 June 2018, so if this is the calibre of company we are getting in to, we will be fine. If IM converts one of his 7 figure deals, that and the Townnews deal will see us to breakeven. | bonio10000
29/1/2019 14:18 | Chris I doubt we would see those sort of figures from that deal. To me the announcement was more about our technology being chosen for a next generation platform use case. The non traditional video marketing is low value but massive Not worth a share price rise though imho. Interesting nevertheless. | nickb
29/1/2019 14:09 | Odd to RNS it then. They're doing their best to build a narrative before the results. Contract probably doesn't cover the cost of the rns... | mcsean2164
29/1/2019 13:10 | Read at face value it is worth quite a bit less than £70K in the first year (otherwise the RNS would not need clarification) but they think it will grow quickly and become a large contract (>£100K annually) | chriscallen
29/1/2019 12:52 | Thank you - I had missed that, tucked away as it was. So there is the answer. Odd to RNS it then. Back to padding out news, if you throw in Colgate, prior to results? | bonio10000
29/1/2019 12:17 | The CEO states at the bottom of the RNS: 'While the fees payable are not substantial to the company on a one-year basis, they are commensurate with the services being provided' GL | paulcon1
29/1/2019 12:06 | I assume a fair question would be whether the RNS is based upon revenue or a new market? | bonio10000
29/1/2019 12:02 | Mind blowing. You get a deal and little to no buying and price action. | bonio10000
29/1/2019 11:58 | Sell the news,,,😞 | mcsean2164
28/1/2019 13:26 | This mornings RNS on the London Stock Exchange: GL | paulcon1
28/1/2019 12:28 | Just been looking at the Peloton website that’s an impressive bike setup! About £2K +£35 per month subscription. | nickb
28/1/2019 10:21 | Looks like bonio (Fred the weatherman’s lookalike) is a little unsure whether to be a cheerleader or a doom monger today. At least we now know, he is capable of getting excited.WOOF WOOF! | nanga parbat
28/1/2019 10:08 | Investors have compared Peloton's class streaming service linking its bike and iOS devices and televisions to Netflix Inc. (NFLX) . Foley said, "the similarities are strong in that we're a media company...we're different in that we're a lifestyle company." Nevertheless, Peloton and Netflix now share a common director. Jay Hoag, who also serves on Netflix's board, joined Peloton's Board of Directors after the Series F funding closed on Aug. 3. So, what's next for Peloton? "We're at our core a technology and innovations company, and we're not done with the treadmill yet," answered Foley. | cabi1 |
