Well I’ve had two online conversations this year with Pulsiv and the finishing comment on both occasions was an Extremely exciting year ahead |
If you look at Pulsiv's schedule for release of reference designs, it has three lined up to be released in Q2 of this year, according to the website. So, it could well be one or more of those that we will hear on. Additionally, the last important release was announced in conjunction with partners Innoscience and Frenetic, so that would explain a specific date being flagged for this release. It could well be with another partner or one or both of the aforementioned again. |
Lets see what tomorrow brings - I don't think it'll materially affect FIPP share price short term....
but if its a product release date/improved etc then why wait until tomorrow and not just make the announcement, unless it needs to be tied into an agreement elsewhere with another company.... |
Their linked in page is probably more for clients than investors, so I’d bet it’s some kind of new/improved product or product release date |
Another alternate would be news on Pulsiv Horizon, their solar panel efficiency improver. On their website this has been labelled as Coming Soon for a while now. |
Have to agree with Aqc, you don't tend to get sales news from these companies unless it's something seriously big and I doubt that would be flagged in advance. I also feel it will be something on the design side or in that area. I'm still anticipating a raise from Pulsiv which it'll need to really drive home it's advantage. |
Since Octopus got to 9% last Tuesday , over 1.5m Frontier shares have traded , or 2.5% of the issued capital , so we could be due another holdings RNS very imminently ? The NAV was 84.2p at end December , and since then we seem to have gained rather than lost momentum within the portfolio companies . |
I guess most people would think Pulsiv is not a publicly traded company… Anyway, I don’t think it will be big news. I suspect it will be that a new design is released for sale, or something like that… if it was proper big news they wouldn’t be talking about it before they release it… just my opinion. Hope I’m wrong! |
Well with some of the major electronics distributions manufacturers already partnered up it looks good . But you could say with Frontier 20% ish stake why if we’re on the cusp of something major are those a lot more inside not buying Frontier at these levels |
In my first conversation with the Pulsiv CEO last year he said that it was really all about their chips. These from memory, are produced at a foundry in Taiwan."The solution is ready to sell and we have got our own custom chip where our IP goes into a microcontroller and the designs and systems that you need to build around our system are freely available on our website. "In order to bring it to life though, you need to buy our chip which holds all of the know how which is protected in such a way that it prevents cloning or reverse engineering." |
Even if it is a game changer, I don’t think it will affect the share price till solid orders start mounting. I’m under the impression that Pulsiv own the patents and don’t do any manufacturing or distribution…? If that’s the case this could scale up extremely rapidly… Investors loved Fever tree who also did not manufacture nor distribute their products.
It seems a no brainer that the product will fly off the shelves… however I’ve seen other “no brainers” on AIM that never gained traction. So cautiously optimistic |
I don’t want to be too. Positive but the forthcoming news could be a game changer |
The forthcoming changes across the EU regarding all mobile phones, tablets and cameras having to have a USB-C charging port should surely play to Pulsiv's strength. The end of December is the date for this, with the same being applied to laptops by early 2026. |
Final sign off of the USB design should be the news hopefully along with some potential volume numbers |
The entire FTSE AIM market is also at a 5year low. We also saw Milton selling a large part of their shares in Frontier last year. There’s a void of information on how the portfolio is doing. I’d point out that when the annual results come they usually point to success and the share price rises subsequently. When you compare Frontier to rivals their portfolio is diversified and strong in my opinion. |
I'll not disagree with you there. To be honest, it wouldn't bother me if they did raise, particularly if it was to further support what are some exciting prospects.I'm already considerably down, so if they bolstered the balance sheet and released positive news on a few of those investments the tide could turn quite quickly. |
Hi Hastings - All your points make sense but 9 times out of 10 Mr Market is usually correct - Hence the adage "How to make a small fortune on the Stock Market - Start out with a large one" |
Personally, don't buy the fundraiser argument, given Octopus's recent buying. After all, why they'd be better off holding off if that was on the agenda!Looking at the current mkt cap, it looks extremely cheap, given the Pulsiv stake was, as of earlier this year valued at £9m. Then there is Alusid plus the promising Cambridge named businesses, plus others. Of course, we need an IPO or a trade sale to boost the coffers and reverse the downward trend and I'm confident that will happen, although it could be like waiting for the elusive bus!I can't see Pulsiv announcing any specific customers on Wednesday, I think that kind of thing will be kept under wraps, but we will see. |
General nerves, fear of raising funds and the micro cap's illiquidity imo. This could move upwards quickly on some good news. Pulsiv's stake could be worth multiple of today's market cap alone. But i am a dreamer. |
AQC & Rose - Thanks - Sounds promising but why all time low?? Just general nerves? |
In Jan 24 it was reported that As part of a larger £1.13mn funding round, Octopus AIM VCT funds are investing £0.5mn in Alusid, which values the company at £9.5mn. Frontier IP holds a 35.4 per cent equity stake in Alusid worth £3.3mn.
Note how Octopus have moved from backing an FIPP investment (Alusid) to taking an increasing atake in FIPP itself..An interesting development.. |
Alusid IPO should be soon, plus remember they generate a bit of revenue through advisory fees. Raising funds shouldn’t be a problem with a strong portfolio. It’s reassuring to see octopus increasing their holding steadily. I don’t have high hopes for Wednesdays Pulsiv announcement. A lot of the portfolio should be reaching maturity with a few ipos in the next 5years. |
Speculation on the "other place" of possible fund raise likely - Not sure if likely at current low share price though cash burn appears to be in region of £1.8-£2M per half year. Perhaps regular followers could confirm or correct this figure. Thanks in advance.
Only just started DD here on share price hitting all time low - Investee companies look interest but so did Woodford's.!!!! |
Thought it worth reposting my interview with the Pulsiv CEO from earlier this year.https://martinflitton1.wixsite.com/privatepunter/post/could-pulsiv-prove-to-be-a-tech-star-for-fipp-01-03-24 |
Not me that did the thumbs down on you acuere, I believe you have to be a premium member here, which I'm not.Anyway, back to Pulsiv, just a few days to wait and we will exactly hear what the news is! |
