The offer is now available with ii for non holders.

Anyone know if FSF plan on paying future dividends?

The FSF IPO raised the bare minimum but hopefully this will be more popular now it has some track record. The downside is that scaling back is a possibility. If I had to guess though, I’d say scaling back will be minimal. I’m going to apply for what I want, rather than over applying, and if I get scaled back then so be it.

The method DORE has adopted is much better, with a set allocation plus option to apply for excess shares. That said, I remember complaining to DORE on their last raise which was limited to going through Primary Bid which is very restrictive if you hold in SIPP/ISA.

Col - after another reading, it looks like ordinary PIs can only access the €8m part of the issue, and there's no special considreation of existing holders. That would mean even just a few thousand might be scaled back.

Some brokers might allow clients to apply through them for shares in the placing, for a fee! Compare that with the current DORE issue, where existing holders are allowed a slice.

Not currently a holder - am hoping that ii will allow me to take part - looks like a good buy at 107p

Had a message from AJ Bell that I can apply for the offer shares through my SIPP, which I’ll be doing unless the share price falls below 107p in the meantime.

Yes, thanks for the clarification jonwig, didn’t read it properly. Hoping that I’ll be able to take part or at least get some more shares around the 107p figure. This gives a nice bit of diversity to the portfolio. With a successful placing & offer would hope this would then get back to 115p levels we attained recently.

I'm a bit busy today so I scanned it fast but somewhere it mentioned their ambitions to get to a £500m fund in 3-4 years IIRC.

I think they'll take any number they can sensibly deploy in the next year. Say up to £150m?

Col - that's just the public offer for subscription. On top of that, there's the placing for instis and existing holders. They want £76.8mn for the immediate pipeline alone. I guess they'll get that easily enough.

Maximum of €8.0m I believe

“The Offer for Subscription is being made under an exemption against the need for an approved prospectus provided for under the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000 and consequently the quantum of the Offer for Subscription shall not exceed the Sterling equivalent of EUR8.0 million.”

I could not see how much they plan to raise. I suspect too the shares will drift close to 107p, possibly around 109p as the consistent buying at 115p suggests there will be decent support both for the placing and in the market.

Interim results:

It will be an age before I've read through these! They've achieved £108,000 in revenue, but not told us how it originated.

Fundraising:

New shares at 107p, min £1,000. Looks fair enough, but there's a chance the shares will drift near to that.
Have they said how much they plan to raise? I can't find it. There's always a danger they end up with uncommitted cash, which is a drag on assets.

Decent update:

Almost fully invested, interims 14 June. (And a virtual presentation afterwards at 9:00. I might try to attend, if they'll allow.)

IPO in around Nov 21. Around 7 months later it's 110p to sell so that's a decent enough return

And I'm very grateful to whoever let me buy in volume at 89p, although it didn't feel like that at the time. For once catching a falling knife worked. It has to occasionally.

Recent FT article was about carbon credits, and how private investors, etc. are going heavily into "carbon". The markets here are quite obscure and unregulated, but it doesn't take much searching to find that FSF is connected with these instruments.

"Wealthy investors pile into the carbon market":

Adding speculative hype to FSF might not be a good thing in the longer run!

Intersting run of buys going through in the last hour or so. Looks like some form of automated buy program to me rather than a tip, although some of trades come to almost exactly a round number like £1k, £5k or £10k if you allow for stamp duty and commission.

The buy volume hasn't yet been enough to shift the price as it appears one MM must be sitting on some stock but I live in hope.

Nothing has really changed, fundamentally, since IPO. The "safe haven" story is good enough.

Market seems to like the update. Some consistent buying has got the price around NAV.

Perhaps seen as a safe haven?

NAV and update:

A big surprise, NAV risen to 104.2p from 98.1p at IPO. On the strength of that, we certainly deserve a premium. (106p?)

there's a new IHT-relief forestry fund to launch (£50,000 min):

The video is well worth watching, as it explains carbon credits as well as the main reasons to invest and the risks.

Carbon Farming on Costing the Earth

It seemed to me the farmer got a not unreasonable outcome in that after consultation with Foresight/the seller he got to buy the land which was best for farming and had least impact on the environment and Foresight took the rest.

None of this is easy but if we wish to deal with Co2 emissions we have to build renewables and we have to plant trees. There have to be compromises.
