07/10/2002 13:54 | Nice to see more MM buys appearing. | reetus
07/10/2002 13:46 | Can't see a buyout happening from another operator, as FTF are the largest operator in Europe and I think Mike Balfour is the type of person that has the determination to make his vast network of gyms that he's built up from day one, thrive and succeed. He has commented that FTF may have grown to quickly and not contrated on maximising membership of existing ones, so I think an intense period of marketing should help get the company figures back in line again. | reetus
07/10/2002 13:28 | Looking more like an opportunistic buyout by someone. Large % of this company have changed hands in the last few days of trading. !!!!! | airrage
07/10/2002 13:22 | Big shapes moving through now. | reetus
07/10/2002 10:17 | A few MM buys appearing as well today, so one would expect they have an order to fill and offer price to increase. | reetus
07/10/2002 09:36 | Share price seems to be going the right way today, which suggests the reaction to the trading statement may have been slightly overdone. Positive results from LA fitness today most be a plus for the Industry as a whole. | reetus
06/10/2002 20:25 | u were saying.... | reetus
05/10/2002 21:30 | I was surprised the price fell so much on Friday, considering the share price had unexpectedly plummeted on Thursday before the Trading Statement was announced. I don't think you'll see any FSA investigation, as Insider Dealing is very hard to prove. | reetus
05/10/2002 14:49 | October 05, 2002 Purchase of Fitness First shares fails to halt slide By Dominic Walsh DIRECTORS and management of Fitness First yesterday attempted to stem the collapse in the share price after Thursday's last-minute profit warning by buying almost one million shares worth £875,000. The move came as LA Fitness, its closest rival in the value-for-money fitness sector, sought to distance itself from Fitness First's woes by issuing a strong trading update showing like-for-like sales growth of 9 per cent. Five directors of Fitness First bought a total of 561,500 shares at 91p, while management bought a further 400,000 shares. The biggest buyer was Mike Balfour, the chief executive, who took his total holding in the company to 5.44 per cent by adding 300,000 shares. Analysts suggested that Mr Balfour's credibility would now come under close scrutiny, particularly from institutional investors who were persuaded to back a £75 million rights issue in February at 412p a share. "Investors are absolutely seething and I wouldn't be surprised if Balfour pays by having to fall on his sword," one said. There is more to be read in this article...... I am a bit worried(not personally) about any FSA Investigation into the share price fall before the profit warning. | airrage
04/10/2002 23:58 | selling overdone ,hold says my broker, what a prat. | oldolie
04/10/2002 23:04 | Does anyone have any Level 2? | ip77
04/10/2002 19:27 | The news tonight on the Evening Standard is that a take-over bid may be on the card. Bought today at 95.18p would not have bought if it hasn't drop so much in the last fews days. I had to sold half my Thus shares. | philippem
04/10/2002 16:13 | philippem. considering these wher 230P a few days ago a few holders on this board may disagree with you. Instituions dump a firm mercileesly if they dissappoint and they suspect mismanagement(ie. overexpansion). That is to what I refer. I only bought today at 97P so I'm more than happy having watched these guys for a couple of years. Heres the news about the director 50K buy. | airrage
04/10/2002 15:47 | I did not read the anoncement of Directors buing but it is not 50,000 shares. IT IS A LOTS MORE at 91p. So I do not see a betrayal from management when they buy BIG. Regards, | philippem
04/10/2002 15:32 | Today should have cleared out all the Big sellers that want out regardless of Price as a sense of betrayal from management. | airrage
04/10/2002 14:14 | Director buy 50,000 share at 91p this share is too cheap. Good luck | philippem
04/10/2002 13:37 | All those big ? trades are DLY so they look to me like big buys. 105p at the end of the day? any views? | philippem
04/10/2002 12:58 | Mkt Cap Today £110m. Warning yesterday said expect 20% less than forecast of 18P EPS making say 14P EPS. At a price of 97P to buy this makes a PE of only 6.7. Reducing next years forecast EPS by the same 20% makes a foreward PE of 5. - Turnover in the 6months to April was £101.8m (Price to Sales for the year will be maybe 0.5) - Net debt £100m. - Book value £233.6m (Price to Book 0.2) - highly cash generative. Net cash inflow for 6months to April £12,253m. So say £24m/year. You could make the mkt cap in 4years. I only bought today @97P. Leisure sector has been consolidating, and bid rumours have been around for FTF at double todays price. Good Luck. Should be a quick bounce back to 120P, Results to be published Oct 7. especially given todays announcement trying to downplay yesterdays. | airrage
04/10/2002 12:25 | Once another 2,500,000 shares are dumped then we will see the real bottom. | etaylor
04/10/2002 10:37 | 50/60p by 3pm, 60% down. | etaylor |
