Something I learnt, when you post a link like Paul above, change 2 of the first 5 letters to CAPITAL letters and the link will work.

eg: https to hXXps the link will work.

surely the power of clipping video by copying and pasting URLs in a web browser has to gain some traction

video search would seem a tremendous opportunity for ai processing of video streams and what better mechanism to serve that up to users than a codec like blackbird

There is no finished version neither Avid Adobe Apple have a finished version and basically none have Ai capabilities like we will soon be able to offer (although they will at some point).

Different Ai

Stephens Blackbird Ai is part of the FBT video codec design

Veritone is for Ai services to do other things like voice transcriptions etc
Veritone have specific Ai trained for Media workflows.

Veritone won best of IBC 2017

It means our customers have access to Veritones Ai media capabilities.

I would speculate that Veritones media customers will soon have Blackbird video codec / Editing?

Anyway it makes our platform more powerful and more reason to sign up

This is not being negative, just a genuine question.

I thought Blackbird used AI/ algorithms already but had no idea as to what extent.

The tie up with veritone (from the RNS)suggests that AI is the reason for the tie up..

Was the FBT, AI not great/only adequate or is this tie up a 'great leap forward' for both companies?

I'm inclined to wonder what FBT have been doing without that capability in Forscene. I did a deep learning course for automotive, a lot of the work has been done, so very disappointing that FBT has not done it themselves.

Apart from rebranding, what exactly are they doing to improve the product?
