That rumour was wrong then. It was Steve Lane who left.

Yesterday's rumour on iii BB is that maybe negotiations for sale of FIO are taking place.

Rumour on iii BB that Roger Foster is going? Must admit sounds unlikely.

Is this true?

Sinking ship?

Just to say that I did not sell because of your post. Having bought at 24.8 p they were showing nearly a 20% profit and so met my criteria for a sale. I bought at 24.8 because I felt they were undervalued. At 30p I suspected they might be over valued, but there is very little firm information around. My holding at £1.17 I have long since written off but one only has to look at the three year graph to see this company's performance. I do find the bb's very helpful sometimes, indeed they have on occasion made me a lot of money, but I like to think I make my own decisions and I certainly would not blame a bb poster if I made a bad one!

Very best of luck to you and mollymolly

diku,

You are right no one is promoting this share here. I was referring to your "...you are better off not posting at all... you are not doing any favours
to your self..." comment.

If anyone does think this is worth buying it would be interesting to know why. Reasoned arguments are not common on this BB.

I agree that Guarantees are out, but what I look for is good looking odds. It can't be measured, but I look for investments that have say 50:50 chance of going up by 5 to 10 times. Easier said than done, but good odds.

My perspective is always medium/long term so the fundamentals are key, the things you mention are short term issues. I do not like to sit all day by a computer screen.

I don't think anybody is ramping this share, infact it is the opposite...

If you care to check my posts of 15 Dec 03(340) & 19 Jan 04(366)...

I just could not see the logic of post 373 where by he/she bought shares at £1.17 & then at 24.8p but the poster feels very negative on the company from what is out in the open...so why buy again at 24.8p...thus my post of 374... now having read my post the poster sells out...see post (375)...it makes me wonder if I had not posted, would the poster still be holding his/her shares...

No matter how much of a fundamental case you might make of buying the share or not buying will not work either...it is a case of momentum buying, speculating buying, info leaked etc,etc... and by the time you make your case of fundamental buying the share,it will have run away from you...

Yes you might go to a race meeting & pick a horse just because the horse is in a good form but it does not GUARANTEE you with a win... the same applies to the stock market, you might think of a fundamental case of buying but it is not a GUARANTEE the share price will go up...

I'm sure the only buying we have seen is by the staff, family and mates down the pub. There is no reason why this share should have returned to this level.
I'm a gambler/investor and even I won't by any more.
Molly is spot on, with the info we have on the outside it is not a buy.
I'm still waiting for a 'surprise'.. not.

Diku,

Most people want to look at the risks as well as the rewards. No point in blind ramping; it does not work.

Those that think FIO will recover should ask themselves why. Do they know the products or staff – perhaps they are very impressive. Good cash, but what will FIO do with it. Maybe an acquisition or sale of FIO is possible. Roger Forster is an experienced wheeler dealer – are you backing his survival instincts?

I would not invest in FIO, but I might be wrong. But I would suggest that those who are investing just because of the cash might also be wrong.

Those who would like to "help" the share price should post why they think FIO's products will be medium/long term winners. Or is this just like going to a race meeting and picking a random horse, without looking at the form. Looks closer to gambling than investing.

I am simply trying to stop people getting their fingers burnt, but I am now out of this share and won't be posting any more. Best of luck diku.

Lets face it you are not the only one facing tech loses...but having bought at
£1.17 & more at 24.8p I fail to understand why you are talking down this share
so much...you are better off not posting at all... you are not doing any favours
to your self...

Dont't think mollymolly would agree with you. They have blown a huge cash pile and their software seems to be being rejected. I originally bought these at 117p so they are a blot on my portfolio, failure to exercise stop loss on my part. I did buy a few at 24.8p but I shall not be buying any more. Read going going gone for the less rosy side of the picture.

fio is cash rich & compared to other tech stocks at present it maybe looking cheap.Bargain hunters are the most likley drivers @ the moment & to be fair the downside to this stock is very limited.

Well, its rising. But still do not know why. You only have to read mollymolly's posts on the other thread to know there are plenty of reasons why no one should want to buy this share.

There again one could argue so are some of the other tech stocks which are grossly over priced but they keep on going up due to momentum buying, herd mentality, call it what you like due to the continuous strength in the Nas...

During the months of Nov & Dec 2003 small to tiny caps were sold off & they came off their highs while money was chasing the big caps...

While we still have that strength in the Nas in the new year money is coming back to small caps thus a lot of them are hitting new highs...

FIO has just not participated in the rally despite it's problems thus bringing in
momentum buyers...

Hard one to read this. Cannot see any reason for buying the share, and yet there still seem to be buyers about. But the trades page is recording a small trade of 1000 at 25.75 as a buy, when its fairly obviously a sell. Weird.

With a spread of 23-28 the mms are really trying to discourage trade in these shares - wonder why...but so far all trades are buys....

Maybe our Mr 5% has had enough and will step in before all the cash has gone.
It does look as though somebody knows something.
Good no a big trades after weeks of no trades.
Either a good end year statement, Dir buying or deal.
Can't see any reason to buy on what we know.

Guys just a thought, that 160,000 from yesterday...could it be directors buying that is if they are not in their close period...One of the directors did buy some shares in the first week of 2002 so I am not sure if they are in the close period...thus the interest today...will have to watch RNS news...
This is just speculation on my part, please DYORS...
