but unfortunately it's not how mainstream human animals operate. Look around the world to see who are the most successful ! A pleasant bunch, aren't we, but some do try to stave off planet earth instincts.

They couldn't go to any Uni nor join the clergy and had to live a certain distance from large cities. Therefore they went into business and from a persecuted minority to a very powerful business majority via family firms.

Fascinating case study. We need more of that approach of long termism, collaboration and humility.

I like the Quaker sort of models. Amazing how many businesses started by Quakers managed to survive. There is something in their thinking we now lack.

They dont fight though, not the right word.

No, they don't.
Go to a Quaker 'Business' Meeting and you'll find out how they do things.
Simply, honestly, efficiently, and with compassion.
It's no doubt how they built trust around their businesses; that the fact that they were barred as non-conformists from going to Oxbridge.

& the BoD too as long term involves hard work and delaying gratification beyond the life of the current BoD.

Quite agree Pinkfish, long term strategic thinking is needed at corporate and governmental level. Many corporates are just like governments. They just want short term wins to appease their constituency, the market.

Absolutely bazworth , it would be a tragedy if we were to be taken out before the market recognised the potential here.

Takeover......!

Would like to see substantial growth in the share price first! Think we have a cracking couple of years ahead of us!

Hi Brucie - just bought one on the Vienne/Charente border. Climate perfect as you say - usually around 6-7 degrees hotter than the UK and sunnier for much more of the year.

Value still good however it's a bit of a bubble at the moment - everything is selling quickly as Brexit buyers rush before the deadline and the French emerge from their flats wanting a garden after lockdown.

Beeks, whereabouts you looking to buy in France? I'm currently in Burgundy on hols and I gather from our host that the region is receiving more French holiday makers who can no longer tolerate that heat "au sud". Here the weather is not dissimilar to UK, though obviously a little bit warmer. Which is about perfect in my book. And the houses are unbelievable value.

I sold half my holding on the outlook - I think it will drift lower. The new CEO may also want to pick up stock / options at a low level.

mesquida - I don't see anything bad in the results and as Pinkfish states, building a base for the future. Being in an undervalued boring share will not seem such a bad place to be come the next correction! Most of my investments are such - FTC, HSP, STCM and one growth company CLCO.

Aww - I feel so loved :)

Yes, been in France househunting (and half price lunching at Morrisons!!). However now awaiting Covid test results as it seems I may have the "Kung Flu" to coin a US President phrase.

Did not complete my purchase and currently invested as much as I want to be, here and elsewhere.

Just checked his posting history, yesterday he was lunching in Morrisons with his daughter so he is alive and well, but strange that he has not completed his repurchase because on the strength of today's statement I would think that buying at anything under 10p should prove a profitable strategy.
