As identified in our Trading Update issued on the 30(th) June, we recently placed a number of manufacturing staff on furlough as a consequence of certain order confirmation delays, so we are very happy indeed that confirmation of this order will enable us to welcome "some of these colleagues back to the business".

Will move when shown to be a steady business environment for the factory and the growth markets are being penetrated. Then multiple up days. Cheap here IMHO.

Highly automated = higher margin & higher capacity/throughput capability.

State of the art for any 5G too when new opportunities arise.

"Highly automated state of the art hybrid microelectronics manufacturing operation". Cranking up the profile of the business somewhat, perhaps down at this level they are feeling rather vulnerable as a bid target.

Thanks Buywell (we never asked for your opinion btw, so please shut the door on the way out).

The update had a uncertain outlook however in the current climate that is the right thing to say - almost any other company that says different is lying, except for toilet roll companies and Bournemouth fish and chip shops!.

There may be uncertainty however there is also considerable opportunity for Filtronic. I do wish the mgmt would have be a little more positive every now and again.

Still making money, still launching products, in a cyclical industry that is in on the growth phase.

The share price however never fails to dissapoint!

Outlook

There is considerable uncertainty in both the macroeconomic environment and the markets in which we operate. As the focus of concern regarding the impact of Covid-19 progressively shifts from public health to the economy, that uncertainty will increase. Whilst we have entered FY2021 with a good order book, it would be imprudent to be anything other than cautious on the outlook for the year ahead and consequently, in common with many of our peers, we will not be providing guidance for the expected performance of the business at this time.

With Hong Kong kicking off again lots of talk amoung politicians of further reducing involvement of Huawei from 5G network and developing home grown technology. Unfortunately since Labour let Marconi go to the wall (not that a Tory govt would have done anything different) cupboard looks a bit bare. Whats worse is the US has also restricted use of its technology if we dont exclude Huawei completely.

Usual cautious stance from management however doesn't seem they have been affected too much by events. And we have new product launches to boot.

As I’ve mentioned before, we will hopefully have a trading statement in the next two weeks or so. I’m assured by the news announcements over the last 6 to 9 months that all should be good. Looks as though some may be getting a little impatient.
