Yes I did buy but not at 10p, at 8p in 21, it was a long hold, sold out at 48. History has a habit of repeating with filtronic. They get some orders from the likes of tesla and it's all sunshine for app 2 years before it all goes south, this time may be different but I wouldn't hold my breath. Over valued at the moment on tiny turn over. Good luck if your holding or got in late. Still a great short at this price, my opinion only |
And did you buy are 10p ? No, thought not. |
Market cap of 157 million on lowly turnover. A great buy at 10p but now fully valued. Any major pull back in the market could make this a great shorting opportunity as it will take more than measly orders from Resla to support that market cap |
Aerospace and defence orders up but revenue down, suggesting the revenue will be recognised this year. |
Nothing new in the results, which is no great surprise given that we had a trading statement only quite recently, but the tone of the forward looking comments is a big plus. Comments such as "extremely excited" are not normally part of Filtronic's vocabulary! Surely the broker's Forecast for this year's revenue is beginning to look rather silly. Wake up guys ! |
I've added on this little dip, results tomorrow. |
baz - FTC has found some powerful friends - there will be a lot of cash flowing into the coffers - I will keep adding - this has a long way to run yet. pete |
Certainly wouldn't consider selling before the 30th! But no doubt high risk...
Hopefully, we'll all be needing our moon boots and not paper cups in our hands :) |
Re selling - there are two families that each own about 30M shares.
I suspect that the majority of those shares were bought at 10p or indeed less. The two families are therefore sitting on massive profits and it wouldn't surprise me if they are selling a few to take a little cash of the table!
Cheers |
these were 80p a couple of days ago.. someones selling.. |
“Another one for the bin”
Hope you mean the previous poster & not FTC for the bin!!
Cheers |
Another one for the bin |
Don't fall in love with this stock. I am a buyer at 35p. Beware the Results ? |
https://www.northeasttechnologypark.com/post/filtronic-secures-9-million-order-to-boost-spacex-s-starlink-deployment-with-advanced-e-band-sspas |
The results next Tuesday are likely to be better than the figures announced within the interim statement. It’s also likely that the analysts are waiting till then to amend their forecasts.
All looking excellent though.
Cheers |
For the ground stations aiui. All looking good from my stand point. High power, high reliability amplifiers at this part of the radio spectrum is very niche area. |
It will be interesting to see where the price will be come Xmas ! |
Elon Musk is one of the richest people in the world, one of the great bringers of disruption and a renowned long term strategist. Do I think his plan with FTC is to have an influence over the direction of a company that is at present a vital part of the spacex roll out or to make a quick £3m? |
Can anyone confirm my understanding of the warrants?
Seems like FTC are issuing warrants to SpaceX based on orders received. These warrants give SpaceX the chance (but not the obligation) to buy FTC shares at 33p a pop.
So SpaceX now have 8,684,844 warrants to buy 8,684,844 FTC shares which they have not as yet exercised.
I can see conditions against the warranmts on order value and frequency.
Could SpaceX exercise the warrants and then immediately sell the shares? |
FTC is very difficult to trade. It tends to whipsaw over short time periods and the spread can be unpredictable. Much easier to buy and hold imo |
The RNS that I look forward to reading is when the payload unit contract has been awarded. No idea when that will be but it should be a cracker!
Onwards & upwards
Fabulous progress by all at Filtronic. What a transformation that will not have been achieved without an awful lot of hard work etc.!
Cheers |
well that fizzled out fast.. |
No, just me :-) |
PLDT staff can thank Filtronic. I hope they're buying FTC stock |
