17/9/2010 18:49 | Yes pretty good going - 10% gain in 5 months equates to 24% per annum. Who would not take that? I invested in the original Special Situations fund at Fidelity and it proved pretty gilt edged despite the fall off in the last two to three years. If this does the same with my much more substantial investment this time then I shall be a very happy bunny! | greek islander

09/9/2010 16:39 | According to his interviews its because it entered the FT250 and Tracker funds etc have to buy.Of course he points out that as the shares are at a premium its a good deal for existing holders. The other way and they would want to buy at a discount. He expects the second leg of the bull market to begin in a few months. This is a long term play.If you can leave your money here for several years you will not be disappointed. At 107p we are up 7%.Thats good enough for me at this stage. Good to see you back in Whizzy1.Have PATIENCE. | warala

02/9/2010 23:25 | guys .. plenty a bit fed up with this one & i don't blame you. Never ticked my box to be honest ..... may i be so bold as to suggest running your slide rule over Origo Partners .... OPP. Trading at a discount to NAV ... some extremely exciting investments in the bag already .. fully funded & a recent new investment in Li batteries in China. Its coal investment due to float in HK in Q4 this year. Written up very well in the FT about 6 weeks ago .... Shroder, on the thread doing some great digging to help in your research. I believe a more persuasive investment than this one ... short and medium term. BUT ... DYOR, this is just a suggestion for you to have a look at ... if nothing else you can use it as a pair trade to benchmark Mr. Bolton here over a 12 month timescale say | mattjos
01/9/2010 09:43 | Early days. This has never been a good candidate for a quick win. Give it those three years at least. | atflores
01/9/2010 09:40 | two yellow cards & now a red. 100% out, very disappointed. | whizzy1
27/8/2010 13:09 | agh but the trackers still have to buy which means the premium will stick around for a while - a slower erosion will inevitably happen over time. You are right on fees - the performance fee (if he ends up beating the index) is very high and is on a reservoir format which is somewhat scandalous in my mind. | edwardt
27/8/2010 09:46 | Not only at a premium - at a 10 premium!!!!!!!!! Guys - no professional investors have bought this because its simply too expensive. Look at his list of holdings and he's simply running a tracker fund (yet you're paying monstrous fees for the privilege of having A.Boltin's name on the door - and thats only for 3 years!!). I've been watching this but bought an ETF which has vastly outperformed this already - remember that the NAV is still trading below the issue price... Good luck | roman2325
26/8/2010 17:06 | visibility on discount or premium via graphs to nav for listed investment trusts would be good. B the way Bolton's fund is on a premium, hence why i think you are all bonkers to own it! | edwardt
26/8/2010 13:50 | Im trying to get knowledge of what our valued users would like to see developed on the website. I would appreciate it dearly if you could give some insight into what developments you would like to see, or ask any other users what changes they would like to see. I also have got some shares in FCSS, so don't think I picked a random bulletin board to ask these changes as well....... Many Thanks Shiv | shiv1986
